Nick Petrangelo’s Heater Continues with Win in 2022 PokerGO Cup Event #5 for $369,000
Nick Petrangelo’s run of success on the PokerGO Tour (PGT) continued on Monday with a victory in Event #5: $25,000 No-Limit Hold’em from the 2022 PokerGO Cup. Petrangelo topped the 41-entry field to win $369,000 in prize money.
Petrangelo had a tremendous Stairway To Millions series in January, cashing four times for more than $1,800,000 combined including two wins. He’s now the first player to earn more than 1,000 points on the 2022 PGT leaderboard. Petrangelo came into Event #5 of the PokerGO Cup with 845 PGT leaderboard points. He added 221 with Monday’s victory to push his total to 1,066.
Since September 2021, Petrangelo has won nearly $5,600,000 in live tournaments. He has two scores of more than $1,000,000, five wins, and has reached heads-up play nine times.

There were 41 entries in Event #5: $25,000 NL Hold’em from the 2022 PokerGO Cup, generating a prize pool of $1,025,000. The top six players finished in the money.

Petrangelo To Sixth On PokerGO Cup Leaderboard, Klein In Fourth
The 2022 PokerGO Cup series is now through five tournaments, with three more to go. With the win in Event #5, Petrangelo moved to sixth on the series leaderboard with 221 points. Klein improved to 246 points and is now fourth on the leaderboard. Jeremy Ausmus and his 407 points remain out in front in the race for the $50,000 championship bonus.

Bill Klein finished Day 1 as the chip leader with 1,695,000 in chips ahead of Sean Winter, Ali Imsirovic, Nick Petrangelo, Darren Elias, and Nick Schulman. The final six players are guaranteed $51,250 in prize money, while all eyes are on the $369,000 first-place prize.
