Adrian Mateos Picked Off Isaac Haxton’s Bluff to Double Up
Isaac Haxton raised to 100,000 from the cutoff and Adrian Mateos called out of the big blind. The flop was [ks][ts][9h] and Mateos checked. Haxton bet 55,000 and Mateos check-raised to 200,000.
Haxton called and the turn was the [4s].Mateos used a time extension chip before checking. Haxton checked behind and the river was the [6s]. Mateos checked and Haxton moved all in for effectively Mateos’ remaining 425,000.
Mateos went deep into the tank and used four more time chips. He nearly ran out of time and called with 10 seconds before his hand would have been declared dead.
Mateos showed [7s][6c] and won the pot with a small flush against Haxton’s [qc][9h].
