Welcome to the ARIA Resort & Casino and the PokerGO Studio for the 2019 U.S. Poker Open and Event #8 – $25,000 Mixed Game.
In 2018, the U.S. Poker Open was a new event added to the string of Poker Central high roller tournaments and the eight events on the schedule saw the likes of Justin Bonomo, Mike Gorodinsky, Stephen Chidwick, Ben Tollerene, Benjamin Pollak, David Peters, and Keith Tilston capture victories over the course of 11 days. Last year, Stephen Chidwick captured the second leg of his back-to-back victories in this event when he defeated Chris Vitch heads-up to win the $382,500 first-place prize over a 45-entrant field and on a final table that included Isaac Haxton, Pollak, Dan Shak, Phil Hellmuth, and Daniel Negreanu.
For Chidwick, in the 2019 installment of the U.S. Poker Open, he has collected victories in Event #1 and Event #6 and currently holds the overall points lead ahead of Sean Winter and Cary Katz. Winter has secured one win and four final table appearances, while Katz has two back-to-back runner-up finishes. The player that accumulates the most High Roller of the Year points during the series will be crowned the U.S. Poker Open Champion and be awarded a $100,000 first-place prize.
“I don’t want to get ahead of myself, there’s still four events left to be played and a lot of points up for grabs in the $100k,” Chidwick humbly said about his chances to repeat as U.S. Poker Open champion.
“It would be very special to win it again. This, in my eyes, is the most prestigious thing you can win. To me, this is kind of like the $50,000 Poker Players Championship but stretched out over a week-long series. Competing with the best in the world in a variety of games would definitely be a career highlight to come out on top again.”

Fortunately for Chidwick, no player at the Event #7 – $25,000 No Limit Hold’em final table can dethrone him from first place. Ben Yu is the chip leader with 3,055,000, and he’ll have the likes of 2018 U.S. Poker Open Main Event Champion Keith Tilston, recent Aussie Millions Champion Bryn Kenney, PokerGO Commentator Nick Schulman, and high roller circuit regulars Jake Schindler and Nick Petrangelo to contend with.

Today will see the eighth event of the U.S. Poker Open with Event #8 – $25,000 Mixed Game. Players will begin with 125,000 in starting chips and be playing 30-minute levels with play ending once the final table is down to six players. There are no tournament fees for players who register by 2 p.m. and each player is allowed one re-entry through the first eight levels (ending approximately 6:20 p.m. local time). There is also a 30-second shot clock in play for the duration of the tournament and each player will receive three 60-second time banks each day. The games in the mix will be limit hold’em, limit omaha hi-lo, razz, stud, stud hi-lo, no-limit hold’em, pot-limit Omaha, and 2-7 triple draw and there will be six hands of each. There is also more points up for grabs in Event #8 as 350 points are set aside for the win unlike the 200 in previous events while the remaining points up for grabs are 245 (2nd), 175 (3rd), 140 (4th), 105 (5th), and 70 (6th+).
