Chin Wei Lim seemed to be trending up at this final table, but after two hands he was sent to the rail in 7th place.
The first saw Cary Katz bet 53,000 with the completed board reading [Ad8s8dTdAh].
Lim used an extension before he raised to 300,000 – leaving himself just over 180,000 behind.
Katz didn’t take much time to reply with a raise of his own, putting Lim all-in. Despite committing most of his chips, Lim could only shake his head and fold.
He was happy he did when Katz turned over [AcAs] for rivered quads.
In one of the very next hands, three players were all-in. Danny Tang had both Chin Wei Lim and Rainer Kempe covered, meaning that if he hit he could score a double knockout and end Day 1.
Tang: [AsKh]
Kempe: [KcKs]
Lim: [Tc9s]
Kempe saw one of Tang’s outs come in the window – but his one out came after it as the board ran out [AcKd6s7dTc].
The German is still short heading into the next break, while Katz is back near the top of the leaderboard.
