Day 4 is officially in the books of the 2019 British Poker Open. Earlier today we saw Paul “Top Dollar Man” Newey claim his first title as he took down Event 3, the £10K No Limit. Sam Soverel finished second for the second straight tournament, furthering his stranglehold on the high roller player of the year race.

Today we saw the kick-off of Event 4, the £10K Short Deck event. A total of 24 entries made it out for this event and play concluded when we reached the final five, leaving us on the direct bubble for the stream tomorrow! Here are some of my favorite photos from today.

Two days, two final tables, two second places for Sam Soverel. It appeared as if Soverel could go for the trifecta, as he picked up the chip lead early into Event 4, but eventually would bust after the reentry period. Soverel will have to wait until tomorrow for another shot at glory. 
After finishing 6th in Event 3, Cary Katz hopped right into the short deck event and managed to bag a pile. Katz will have a chance to avenge his 6th place finish at tomorrows final table, as he brings the chip lead back for the PokerGO stream at 8am EST. 
Making his first appearance at the British Poker Open today was no other than former Poker Masters winner, Rainer Kempe. Kempe came out to play the short deck event and unfortunately for Kempe, he bubbled the streamed final table tomorrow after being eliminated in 6th place.
A miscommunication at the end of the night led to a little hiccup in a hand between Cary Katz and Danny Tang. All matters were swiftly resolved, however, and ultimately both Katz and Tang made the final table of this event.
