Through the Lens: Cary Katz Conquers SHRB London!

RELIVE THE FINAL TABLE ACTION ON POKERGO RIGHT NOW

In the early hours of Sunday morning here in London, Cary Katz cemented his legacy in poker with his victory in the 2019 Super High Roller Bowl London for £2,100,000. Play started with a bang today, as Ali Imsirovic eliminated both David Peters and Sam Greenwood in the same hand. Moments later, he also eliminated Mikita Badziakouski and shot himself into the lead.

Despite a few minor swings, Imsirovic managed to maintain a spot among the top of the leaderboard for the majority of play. After losing a few flips it was Stephen Chidwick hitting the rail in 4th, leaving us on a £900,000 bubble. Unfortunately for Christoph Vogelsang, he would be the last to leave empty-handed as he bubbled the tournament. Heads up we saw the two exchange the chip lead numerous times, with Katz eventually clawing his way out into the lead, and then coolering Imsirovic to take home the title!

Here are some of my favorite images from play today!

Mikita Badziakouski and Ali Imsirovic were all smiles as play got underway today. Just a few minutes into play, however, Imsirovic would eliminate Badziakouski in 5th place.
All eyes were on Stephen Chidwick and Christoph Vogelsang as a big hand broke out between the two while we were 4-handed.
For a while it looked as if Stephen Chidwick was going to put on another flawless display of tournament poker, as he chipped up to take over the lead. Chidwick eventually would lose a couple key flips and was eliminated soon after in 4th place.
With the elimination of Stephen Chidwick in 4th, we were on a £900,000 bubble. It was Christoph Vogelsang taking the worst of it, as he was eliminated and the bubble boy of SHRB London.
Despite holding more than a 2-1 chip lead heads up, Ali Imsirovic could do nothing but watch the title slip through the cracks as Katz stormed back.
Ali Imsirovic takes one more look at the river card that sealed his fate. In a wild hand where Katz flopped a flush draw, Imsirovic turned a set of tens, only to see Katz river a flush.
