Seth Davies Leads the Super High Roller Bowl Bahamas Final Table; $4 Million Awaits the Winner
Welcome back to the Baha Mar Casino in Nassau, Bahamas, for the Super High Roller Bowl Bahamas final table, as part of the partypoker LIVE Caribbean Poker Party.
The Caribbean Poker Party has long been established as one the prominent poker stops in the region giving players the unique opportunity to have the holiday of a lifetime on the gorgeous Bahamas beaches, while also having the chance to win millions of dollars. For these final eight players, they all might be guaranteed $510,000 in prize money, but all eyes will be on the $4,080,000 first-place prize, Super High Roller Bowl championship ring, and the title of inaugural Super High Roller Bowl Bahamas champion!
The 51-entrant field created a prize pool of $12,750,000, and when Wai Kin Yong was eliminated on the final hand of the night when his top pair and gutshot straight draw was outdrawn on the river by the eventual chip leader’s flush and straight draw, the final eight players would all be a guaranteed a slice of the prize pool pie. The chip leader of the final table courtesy of the Yong elimination is Seth Davies (pictured above) with 2,915,000 in chips. Davies cashed in the 2018 Super High Roller Bowl in eighth place, but this is already his biggest cash on any of the High Roller Triple Crown tournaments around the world – and if Davies can finish in fifth-place or better – it will be his biggest career score that includes lifetime tournament earnings of over $5.3 million.
Second in chips at the final table is partypoker pro Jason Koon with 2,720,000 in chips. The recently married Koon took a stumble down the chip counts in the latter stages of Day 2, but he managed to remain composed and make a run back up the chip counts to sit second overall. For Koon, winning this event would not only be the biggest career score, but also thrust him into sixth-place on the All-Time Money List where he currently sits in ninth with over $30.3 million in lifetime tournament earnings. Third overall is Kathy Lehne with 2,100,000 in chips and is not just the first female to play in the Super High Roller Bowl, but also the first to cash. The Sun Coast Resources founder hails out of Houston, and although may be relatively unknown compared to the rest of the final table, she has been playing high roller tournaments for several years with her most notable finish being a second place to Jason Mercier in the 2014 WPT Alpha8 St. Kitts.
Recently, Steve O’Dwyer had two second-place finishes at the British Poker Open and will looking to finish one better in this event as he takes 1,935,000 into the final table. Depending on Koon’s result, O’Dwyer could leapfrog him on the All-Time Money List to move into ninth with a win as he currently sits 11th overall with over $28.2 million in lifetime earnings. Daniel Dvoress enters the final table in fifth overall with 1,925,000 in chips, and this will be his first cash as part of any High Roller Triple Crown event. The Canadian has been part of the high roller scene for several years now and is mostly seen playing the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series. Dvoress can also make a big leap on the All-Time Money List as he currently sits in 76th place and can move into 40th place with a victory.
Sixth overall is two-time Super High Roller Bowl champion Justin Bonomo (pictured above) with 1,430,000 in chips. In 2018, Bonomo won Super High Roller Bowl China for $ 4,823,077 and the 2018 Super High Roller Bowl in Las Vegas for $5,000,000. Bonomo’s 2018 is one for the ages as he won over $25 million on his way to becoming first on the All-Time Money List (at the time). Regardless of Bonomo’s result, he will remain in second on the All-Time Money List behind Bryn Kenney, but a win will see him be just under $3 million shy of catching Kenney. Malaysia’s Wai Leong Chan sits in seventh overall with 1,390,000 in chips after holding the chip lead at one point in the latter stages of the event. Chan has over $8.6 million in lifetime tournament earnings, and a win will move him into third-place on Malaysia’s All-Time Money List behind Paul Phua ($16.1 million) and Richard Yong ($12.9 million).
Rounding out the final table as the short stack is Erik Seidel with 885,000 in chips. Seidel is fresh off two cashes at the recent Poker Masters, and if he can finish in fifth-place or better, he will leapfrog Dan Smith on the All-Time Money List and move into fourth place. This is Seidel’s third Super High Roller Bowl cash, and if he is able to win it, he will lock up his second best career year in tournament earnings, and best since 2011 where he won over $6.5 million.
