Vieira’s Presence Felt on the Felt
Joao Vieira may have been the most recent entry in the Super High Roller but has been far from unnoticed. He recently won two pots in quick succession (with one pre-flop three-bet-and-take-it from Ben Heath interrupting him) to rise to over 1.6 million. The first was won with a preflop raise to 230,000 from the big blind after Leon Tsoukernik raised blind to 75,000 (it’s been that kind of level, Level 3). The second was a little more involved:
Under the gun, Luke Reeves opened to 16,000, and was raised to 45,000 by button Vieira. Over to big blind Tsoukernik, who made it 225,000 to see a flop. Only Vieira paid his price.
Flop: [TdKd2s]. Tsoukernik led out for 250,000, called by Vieira. This proved his final bet; both players checked through the [3s] turn and [6c] river. Tsoukernik showed down jack-high ([Js8c]) and lost to Vieira’s ace ([asqh]).
