The first day of the $25,500 Super High Roller at the partypoker MILLIONS South America in the wonderful Enjoy resort & Casino in Punta del Este, Uruguay, attracted 27 players who fired a total of 35 bullets. Only fifteen of them remain at the start of the second and final day of the tournament at 12 noon local time as they battle for the first-place prize of $325,000. Only five players will end up taking home some cash with the player busting in fifth collecting $60,000.
Marty Mathis, champion of the 2019 partypoker MILLIONS South America Main Event is leading the pack with 4,315,000 but he is very closely followed by James Romero with 4,300,000. Niall Farrell, the leader of the Scottish all-time money list, sits in third with 3,600,000 and German High Roller regular Rainer Kempe had to settle for fourth with 3,205,000 after the first day.
Others that are still in contention include two partypoker sponsored players. Dzmitry Urbanovich starts the day in fifth with 2,675,000 and the other player repping the orange diamond is Joao Simao. Simao sits close to the bottom of the leaderboard with 1,395,000 and has a little under twenty big blinds at the start of the day.
The players will start with blinds at 40,000/80,000 and they will be using a button ante here in Uruguay. The button ante will be the size of the small blind when there is at least one table with five players or less. The levels will be 40 minutes and the plan is to play down to a winner.
