Brock Wilson Wins 2021 Poker Masters Event #4: $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em for $189,800

The fourth tournament of the 2021 Poker Masters found a winner on Saturday evening in Las Vegas, and it was Brock Wilson landing himself in the winner’s circle with a $189,800 payday. Wilson topped a field of 73 entries to take home the lion’s share of the $730,000 prize pool, beating Elio Fox in heads-up play.
On the final hand, both players turned trip eights and were lined up to chop the pot, but Wilson rivered a full house, moved all in, and Fox called it off with the losing hand. Fox picked up $138,700 for his second-place finish.
In addition to winning Event #4: $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em, Wilson moved into first place on the 2021 Poker Masters leaderboard. He’s now the player to catch in the race for the coveted Purple Jacket.

For Wilson, it was his second cash of the 2021 Poker Masters, following his fourth-place finish in the first event of the series. It’s also his first victory on the PokerGO Tour presented by Guaranteed Rate.

The final six returned to play on Saturday with Brekstyn Schutten in the lead. Wilson was the shortest stack remaining, bringing 360,000 in chips back with a little under a half of an hour left in Level 14 with the blinds at 15,000/30,000 with a 30,000 big blind ante. Sam Soverel also remained, sitting fourth in chips at what was his 10th Poker Masters final table.
After the group played six-handed for a bit of time, Nick Petrangelo was eliminated in sixth place. He was busted by Chad Eveslage after Eveslage flopped a set of deuces against Petrangelo’s pocket queens. Petrangelo took home $43,800 in prize money.
Soverel was next to bust. Wilson opened with a raise to 175,000 with the blinds at 40,000/80,000 with an 80,000 big blind ante. He had the [AsAh]. Brekstyn Schutten called from the small blind with the [7h7c] and then Soverel called from the big blind with the [Qh9h]. The flop was [KsQs3h] and action checked to Wilson. He bet 150,000, Schutten folded, and Soverel made the call. The turn was the [9d] to give Soverel two pair and he checked. Wilson announced that he was all in and Soverel called for his last 365,000. The river was the [Ac] to eliminate the defending Poker Masters champion in fifth place. Soverel earned $58,400.
After Eveslage went out in fourth for $73,000 and Schutten busted in third for $94,900, action was heads up between Wilson and Fox. Fox started with the chip lead with 6.625 million to Wilson’s 2.5 million.
Wilson picked off a big bluff from Fox to double up and move into the chip lead and then he maneuvered his way to victory lane from there.

Brekstyn Schutten eliminated Shawn Daniels on the last hand of the day to vault into the chip lead as Event #4 $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em, is down to the final six. Joining Schutten at the final table are Nick Petrangelo, Chad Eveslage, Sam Soverel, Brock Wilson, and Elio Fox.
Shortly after doubling through Petrangelo, action folded to Schutten on the button, and he opened to 50,000. Soverel was in the small blind, and he called. Daniels was in the big blind, and he moved all-in for 615,000. Schutten re-shoved, and Soverel folded [9c9d] face up. Schutten held ace-king, and Daniels held queen-jack. The board ran out nine-high, Daniels was eliminated in seventh place for $36,500, and Schutten ended the day with the chip lead.
Steve Zolotow finished in eighth place when he ran his last 85,000 into the middle, holding ace-four against Chad Eveslage, who called from the big blind with eight-six. Eveslage flopped a pair of sixes, and Zolotow was eliminated, taking home $29,200.
In the biggest pot of the day, David Coleman opened on the button to 55,000 and Nick Petrangelo three-bet in the big blind to 300,000. Coleman moved all-in for over a million chips total, and Petrangelo called. Coleman held pocket tens, and Petrangelo held ace-king. The flop fell two aces, giving Petrangelp trips, and when the board ran out clean, Coleman was eliminated in ninth place for $21,900.
Aram Zobian just missed out on the unofficial final table as he ran his last 85,000 into the middle, holding seven-four against the king-queen of Petrangelo. The board ran out queen-high, and Zobian was eliminated in tenth place for $21,900.
Chris Brewer cashed for the first time this series when he finished in 11th place for $21,900 to gain 22 PokerGO Tour presented by Guaranteed Rate tour points and currently sits in seventh place just behind David Peters. Soverel currently sits in third place with 1,715 points, Coleman sits in 20th place with 688 points, Wilson sits in 21st with 684 points, Eveslage sits in 32th with 527 points, and Petrangelo sits in 58th place with 550. Schutten, meanwhile, is making his first appearance during the PokerGO Tour presented by Guaranteed Rate.
The 73 entrant field created a prize pool of $730,000, with the winner taking home $189,800, and the final six players are all guaranteed at least $43,800.
