Michael Addamo finished Day 1 as the chip leader with 3,425,000 in chips ahead of Nick Petrangelo, Stanley Tang, Alex Foxen, and Mikita Badziakouski. The final five players are all guaranteed $203,000 in prize money, but all eyes are on the $1,160,000 first-place prize and title of Event #12 champion.
The Poker Masters Purple Jacket is also on the line for Addamo, Petrangelo, Foxen, and Badziakouski. If Addamo finishes in first or second, he wins the Purple Jacket, and if he finishes no better than third, he needs Tang to win Event #12. For Petrangelo, Foxen, and Badziakouski, they need to win Event #12 and have Addamo finish third or worse.
