Through the Lens: Bada Bada Badziakouski

THE BELORUSSIAN PRO PERFORMS HIS MAGIC AT THE BRITISH POKER OPEN

Late last night Event #9 of the British Poker Open wrapped up as the players decided to turn it into a single-day turbo. A total of 18 entries in this £50k generated a first prize of £486,000.

When the dust settled it was Mikita Badziakouski outlasting Christoph Vogelsang to take down the title and the big money. Here are some of my favorite images from yesterday’s play!

A glimpse into the final table of Event 9 of the British Poker Open!
Ali Imsirovic was gaining traction quickly in Event 9, chipping up to one of the big stacks earlier in the day and making it to the streaming final table. Unfortunately for Imsirovic, the traction faded quickly thereafter and he was eliminated shy of the money.
David Peters held the chip leader for essentially the entire day of Event 9. However, when the final three reached the money, Peters lost a crucial flip and was eliminated in 3rd shortly after.
Mikita Badziakouski was faced with a very tough decision against Sam Greenwood four-handed, where Badziakouski flopped a straight flush draw. Greenwood had moved all in, and Badziakouski tanked for a while before electing to call. Greenwood tabled just ace-king high, and Badziakouski turned a flush to eliminate Greenwood, bursting the bubble.
With Greenwood bubbling the event, Sam Soverel is officially the 2019 British Poker Open Champion!
