Through the Lens: Tollerene Edges Out Katz

RELIVE THE FINAL TABLE ON POKERGO RIGHT NOW

The British Poker Open has concluded at Aspers Casino in London as Ben Tollerene claimed gold in Event 10, the £100,000 No Limit Hold’em. Tollerene won two big flips heads up to snatch the BPO Title from Cary Katz, who finished runner-up in the event for £360,000.

Coming into the day Katz held the chip lead, while Tollerene came into the day on the opposite end of the spectrum as the table short stack.

After losing Christoph Vogelsang in 4th, it was Mikita Badziakouski who bubbled in 3rd. Tollerene takes home a nice score of £840,000 heading into Super High Roller Bowl London, that kicks off tomorrow. Here are some of my favorite photos from Event 10!

The final four players coming into play to start the day. With only two making the money and stacks somewhat even, it was anyone’s game.
Unfortunately for Christoph Vogelsang, he was the first casualty of the day. Vogelsang lost a hand to Cary Katz that left him relatively short, and he was eliminated a few hands later.
Fresh off his victory in Event 9, Mikita Badziakouski was looking for back to back titles. Badziakouski, however, bubbled Event 10, missing out on a £360,000 payday.
It was close but no cigar for Cary Katz here in Event 10, as the start of the day chip leader had his money in good to close out the event but lost the flip. After battling back from a severe short stack heads up, Katz had a chance to win the event if his pocket threes could hold against the two overs of Ben Tollerene. Unfortunately for Katz, he would lose the flip and hit the rail in 2nd place.
Ben Tollerene has already solidified himself as one of the game’s greats, as his results have stood the test of time. Today’s title is a nice addition to the already stacked resume of Tollerene, as he takes home his first BPO title, accompanied by £840,000.
