The PokerGO Studio will host the first-ever Global Poker Awards on April 5

The Global Poker Awards are coming to Las Vegas in April, which means it is only fitting to take a look back at last year’s American Poker Awards. The biggest names in the industry converged on Los Angeles to celebrate an amazing year in poker. Hall of Fame players, up-and-comers, and Hollywood stars, including producer Randall Emmett, reality stars Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix, Amber Nichole Miller, and MMA legend Tito Ortiz. Here is a look back at some of 2018’s big winners.

Ema Zajmovic broke out onto the scene with her win at WPT Montreal, becoming the first woman to win an open event on the World Poker Tour. Zajmovic took home the award for moment of the year with her historic run. Zajmovic went on to follow up that performance with two second place finishes in both WPT Amsterdam, and WPT Montreal last year. 
Nick Schulman took home the award for Poker Broadcaster of the Year. This comes as no surprise as Schulman has been recognized over the last few years as being one of the very best at what he does.
Dead Money: A Super High Roller Bowl Story took home the crown with the Media Content of the Year award. The PokerGo documentary focuses on Matt Berkey preparing for the biggest tournament of his life, the Super High Roller Bowl. Be sure to watch it exclusively on PokerGO right now! 
Cary Katz is a man that needs no introduction, but all the recognition and thats exactly what he received at last years American Poker Awards. Catz was awarded the Poker Influencer of the Year award. Catz has made so many contributions to the industry, with one of his biggest being his founding of both Poker Central and PokerGO. Do not be surprised when you see his name come up time and time again over! 
Scott Blumstein burst onto the scene with his dominant performance during the WSOP Main Event. Blumstein took home the award for tournament performance of the year.
