George Wolff Leads British Poker Open Event #2 Final Table, Stephen Chidwick in Contention
The stage is set for the second final table of the inaugural British Poker Open as George Wolff takes a commanding chip lead to the PokerGO live-streamed action on Wednesday. Reigning High Roller of the Year champion Sam Soverel sits second in chips while the Stephen Chidwick is in contention as well.
The tournament started with 17 players across three tables including the United Kingdom’s all-time money list leader Stephen Chidwick. High Roller of the Year defending champion and leader Sam Soverel got off to a hot start along with Anton Suarez and Jan Collado but for the latter that turned out to be no guarantee for success.
Chidwick was among the early eliminated players but bounced back strong after re-entering and getting a hold of some serious chips. The former U.S. Poker Open champ kept a steady grind going all the way to secure himself a spot at the final table. Players that fell short included Mike Watson, Jake Schindler, Keith Lehr, and Frank Kassela.
With two tables remaining both Greenwood brothers were still in the hunt but Sam fell in 18th place while Luc became the final table bubble in 10th place.
Meanwhile, George Wolff kept adding to his stack sending players to the rail left and right. In ninth place, Wolff sent Cary Katz to the rail when his aces held up. Soverel then busted Ludovic Geilich in eighth place when he hit a flush against his at-risk opponent who was holding an overpair to the flop.
The night ended when Anton Suarez busted to George Wolff’s flopped flush to create the following final table seat draw and chip counts.

Anton Suarez Eliminated as George Wolff Extends Chip Lead
On the final hand of the day, George Wolff raised to 30,000 and from the button Anton Suarez made a pot-sized three-bet to 128,000. Wolff quickly called and the flop brought out [Jd3d7d] on which he checked.
Suarez counted down his chips before moving all in for 160,000 and Wolff called right away.

Ludovic Geilich Eliminated, Soverel Nears 1 Million
George Wolff still leads by a fair margin, but Sam Soverel hasn’t called off the chase for the Event #2 chip lead. The High Roller of the Year leader just eliminated Ludovic Geilich to inch closer to the final table and British Poker Open points.
Action was picked up with the board reading [Js9d5s] and the cards tabled. Geilich had shoved and Soverel called with [As4d4h3s]. The partypoker pro had the best of it for the time being, holding [QhQs8c6s].
Soverel spiked his, and Geilich’s, flush on the [7s] turn and his elimination was official after the [7d] came on the river.
When the dust settled, Soverel stacked up just shy of 1,000,000 chips as Geilich exited in 8th place.

Cary Katz Eliminated by George Wolff
George Wolff entered the unofficial Event #2 final table with the chip lead and that advantage has continued to grown. Wolff just scored the first knockout since the redraw, eliminating Cary Katz with pocket aces.
Action was picked up pre with Katz limping under the gun. Stephen Chidwick followed as the next player to act before the rest of the table folded to the big blind.
The chip leader raised to 45,000 and Katz called after a brief deliberation. Chidwick passed, leaving heads up action on the [8s5h2c] flop.
Wolff quickly bet 150,000 and Katz replied by shoving what looked to be just over 340,000. Wolff called and tabled [AsAdTs4c], leaving Katz and [Ah7h4s2s] drawing.
After Wolff drew out to take the chip lead earlier, Katz couldn’t do the same to dent the big stack as the [Qd] and [Jc] completed the board.
Wolff is now playing just over a third of the chips in play two spots from the official final table.

Greenwood Falls, George Wolff Leads Final Table Redraw
Luc Greenwood returned from the last break as the shortest stack remaining in Event #1 and the inaugural British Poker Open champion could not make another final table. Greenwood finished 10th, a few spots short of the money and another chance at BPO points.
Instead, nine non-BPO winners round out the Event #2 lineup. Their identities, chip counts, and seating assignments are provided below:

George Wolff’s Freeroll Gets There Against Jens Kyllonen
While Table 1 has been active, Table 2 has played host to the biggest pots of the day. Another just played out between George Wolff and Jens Kyllonen, where the former free rolled himself to a huge win.
Action was picked up immediately after Luc Greenwood’s double, with the board reading [9d6d4s3s].
Wolff had bet the turn and shoved after Kyllonen raised, quickly building the pot over 600,000.
Kyllonen mentioned something about “getting free rolled” and he was, as he held [Jx9x7x5x] to Wolff’s [QhQc7d5d]. Both players turned straights, but Wolff had flush draw to boot.
That draw got there on the river, as the [Qd] completed the board and Wolff’s flush.
“I should have known.” Kyllonen said, as the dealer pushed the a pot good for the chip lead across the table.
