Luc Greenwood Doubles Through Gavin Cochrane
Picking up action after Gavin Cochrane opened to 15,000, Luc Greenwood three-bet to 44,000 from late position. The rest of the table folded before Cochrane called to see a [9c6h4h] flop.
The big stack quickly bet 100,000, which was enough to put Greenwood at risk for his tournament life. The Event #1 champion quickly called for his final 74,000 and tabled [KcKdQdTc].
The over pair was ahead, but Greenwood had to hold against his opponent’s [As8c6s5d].
He did, improving to a straight in the process as the [Jc] and [Qc] complete the board and Greenwood’s double.

Sam Greenwood Busts, Joni Jouhkimainen Doubles
There is still a chance for the Greenwood’s to keep the British Poker Open point lead, although that would require Luc to make another final table run. The Event #1 winner’s twin brother was one of the last to enter today’s Pot Limit Omaha event and he was unable to spin it up.
Sam Greenwood was eliminated from Table 2 in 14th place, before Joni Jouhkimainen doubled on Table 1.
The partypoker pro got all-in against Mike Watson, holding [AhAs9h7d] against [AcQcJcJd]. The board ran out clean for Jouhkimainen’s pocket aces and he got a full double just before the next level.

Soverel Soars To Lead Before Break
During the last half of Level 9, Sam Soverel played two pots against Hok Yiu Lee to take a massive chip.
The first hand was picked up on a board of [KcQh4c], with Soverel leading for 8,000. Lee raised to 30,000 and Soverel called to see the [8c] fall on the turn.
After Soverel checked, Lee bet 35,000 and Soverel called to see the [Qs] complete the board.
With just over 175,000 in his stack, Soverel bet 90,000 and after a few moments, Lee announced that he was all-in. Soverel double-checked his hand, looked at his opponent’s stack, and called. Lee shook his head and motioned that Soverel’s hand was likely good.
It was, as Soverel tabled [KdQdTc3d] for a rivered full house. Lee flashed his hand to Soverel before sending his cards into the muck.
Soverel stacked up just over 450,000 and a few hands later he took the rest of Lee’s stack to eclipse 600,000. The players are now on their final break before the end of late registration and when play resumes Sam Soverel will enter Level 10 with a massive chip lead.

Lehr Flops Top Set, Cochrane Catches Turn
Two of the more experienced Pot Limit Omaha players in today’s field just played one of the biggest pots of the day on Table 1.
Action was picked up before the flop, when Keith Lehr three-bet the button to 43,000. Gavin Cochrane, who opened from middle position, called and then checked the [AsTd3] flop.
Lehr took quick inventory of his own stack and his opponent’s, before continuing for 45,000. It was then Cochrane’s turn to count his holdings and after he did, he shoved.
Lehr snap called and tabled [AhAc7s6c] for top set. Cochrane was behind, but had outs with [Ad8d9s2s].
One of those outs came in on the turn, as Cochrane immediately spiked the [4s] to hit his flush. The [2c] completed the board and Lehr went from top set and one of the top stacks to one of the shortest left in the tournament after shipping the double. After Cochrane completed stacking his haul, he found himself on the other end of the leaderboard.

Half The Field Over 200K
Midway through Level 7, three tables are still running with 17 players and close to half of them are playing over 200,000.
While we won’t count chickens before any eggs hatch, yesterday’s early Event #1 chip leaders seemed to fair well. Robert Flink was one of the first players over three starting stacks, Sam Grafton was the chip leader after the dinner break, and Luc Greenwood took control of the chip lead well before the final table chip before going wire-to-wire on PokerGO.
