Chidwick Battling to Survive
In the second of two recent hands won, Stephen Chidwick has made ground on George Wolff after dropping further back, but remains a two-to-one ‘dog’.
In the latest hand, Chidwick flopped top pair – a nine – and rivered two pair to take it down, closing to within one big pot of his heads-up rival.

Chidwick Off to a Roaring Start
Chidwick had [7s6d5c3c] and just called Wolff’s bet pre-flop of just over 40,000 with [AsAcJc6s].
The flop of [8h7dJd] saw Wolff bet 35,000 and again, Chidwick called.
The turn of [2s] saw Wolff check, and Chidwick followed suit.
The river [8d] saw Wolff check again, but Chidwick felt that he had to fire a bluff and bet 180,000 with almost no showdown value. Could Wolff hero call again and scoop the first pot of heads-up? No!
Chidwick’s bluff gets through and instead, its the British player off to a great kick-off to the heads-up confrontation.

Sam Soverel Eliminated in 3rd Place for £60,000
Holding [AdQhTd8h], George Wolff raised to 48,000 and had Sam Soverel on the hook for a flop with [QcTc9c7c]. That came [Jc4c2s] and Soverel flopped the flush draw.
Wolff c-bet for 30,000 and got a call to the turn of [3h]. The river [Jh] saw Wolff hold the best hand, but Soverel ran a bluff for 80,000.
Could Wolff sniff it out? He could! A sensational hero call by George Wolff – without the need for a time bank – sent Soverel, stunned, down to fresh air. Wolff, meanwhile, could hardly be having a better early afternoon in London.
In the next hand, Soverel moved all-in pre-flop for 145,000 with [AcQh5d3c] and Wolff called with [AsQx8s6h].
Around one in five times, it would be a chop, but the board of [Js8cAd8h3s] had Soverel dead by the turn.
We are heads-up in less time than it takes to hail a cab in London, and while Sam Soverel cashes for £60,000 and wins yet more leaderboard but again falls short of the glory, it’s his third podium place-but-not-win result of the Series so far.
George Wolff has Stephen Chidwick where he wants him heads-up.

Ben Tollerene Eliminated on the Bubble
Ben Tollerene held [KsQd5s3c] and called George Wolff’s raise of 48,000 with the chip leader holding [QsQcTh4d].
The flop came [7hQh6c] and Tollerene was in bad shape after pushing all-in and getting a call on the bubble. Tollerene would need a four, with just three outs in the deck courtesy of Wolff holding one in his own hand.
The turn card was the [3s], and the river the [9d], sending Tollerene out of Event #7 on the bubble. We’re down to three players already, and the same three players who reached the podium places of the first PLO event.

Soverel Knocked Down the Counts by Wolff
A big pot of 328,000 chips was in the middle before we saw a flop, with all the money quickly going in after the dealer fanned the flop of [2cKh4h].
George Wolff: [AsAc8s7c]
Sam Soverel: [KcQcTc8d]
Soverel was the man who made the all-in and Wolff called. The 2019 British Poker Open Series leader so far would need a king, queen, ten or eight to knock out Wolff.
The turn [3s] helped Wolff stay ahead, and the [7s] meant that Wolff took over the chip lead and Soverel dropped extremely short. Could Soverel fail to podium having led coming into this final day?

Tollerene More Than Doubles
Ben Tollerene moved all-in over Sam Soverel’s 40,000 raise and Wolff’s call, committing all of his 124,000 remaining stack.
Soverel folded, but Wolff did not and it was obvious why.
Wolff: [AsAdKsKc] (77%)
RTollerene: [AcJcJh6s] (23%)
The flop of [3hQcJ] saw the odds flip, with Wolff needing an ace, king or ten to knock Tollerene out, but through the [Qd] turn and [3c] river, Tollerene almost trebled up instead.

Tollerene Down But Not Out
Ben Tollerene came into play with just a little over 130,000 chips, but, having bet 42,000 with [Qd9s9h8h] and seen Stephen Chidwick make it 72,000 with [KhKd4h2c] Tollerene called leaving himself a little back.
The flop of [QhAcKs] saw Chidwick bet 31,000, the exact worth of Tollerene’s remaining stack and Tollerene went into the tank, eventually folding.
In the next hand, Tollerene had [AcKd7d2s], and his predictable all-in saw calls from all three players, Chidwick holding [QsQc4h3s], Sam Soverel [Tc9c8h6h] and George Wolff [QdTs6d5h].
The flop of [4s6c5c] saw Sam Soverel bet 50,000 and both the others folded, leaving Ben Tollerene needing an ace, king or three to stay alive. The turn card of [Qh] was no good to him, but the river was the ace of spades, and Ben Tollerene quadrupled up to 136,000. That’s still almost as short as he was coming into play, but could that be the start of a comeback for the online legend?

Welcome to the Final Table of Event #7
Welcome back to live reporting coverage from Aspers Casino in East London as Event #7, the £25,000-entry PLO event has reached its final four players.
With just four players left, we are still on the bubble, with just three of the poker superstars assembling at the felt going to be paid.
Sam Soverel comes into play as the chip leader, and he’s the man to beat both in this event and the overall standings, with the American red hot favorite to be crowned champion at the end of the Series this coming Sunday.
Sam Soverel comes into play with 849,000 chips, but he’ll face stiff competition for the win, with George Wolff – who has also already won an event this Series on 650,000 and Stephen Chidwick just behind him on 618,000. Online and live crusher Ben Tollerene is favorite to bubble the event, with just 133,000, but this is Pot Limit Omaha and the British Poker Open; if you watched Event #6 on the live PokerGO stream yesterday, you’ll know that anything can happen and short-stacks can survive for a long time on the bubble!
