Welcome to the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Super High Roller Series here in Sochi, Russia for Event #6: $100,000 No-Limit Hold’em.
Today will see the stakes increase to the first six-figure buy-in on the venue as the sixth event kicks off at 3 p.m. (MSK). All players will be starting with 200,000 in chips with 40-minute levels throughout the day. This tournament has a $3,000 fee but any player who jumps in before the start of the day will only have to cough up the $100,000 buy-in, with all later registrants and re-entries being charged in full. The late registration and re-entry period will remain open until the start of level 7.
The last No-Limit Hold’em event saw Mikita Badziakouski go heads-up with Artur Martirosyan who is a relatively newcomer to the high roller scene but has been splashing around in the festivities thus far in Sochi. Badziakouski took the chip lead into the final day and was the last player standing when the last chance saloon had closed for business, taking home $765,000 for his victory.
Event #5: $50,000 Short Deck began yesterday, having a reasonable turnout for the second $50,000 event of the series. The final eight are led by Canada’s Sam Greenwood who has a considerable chip lead headed into the final day. Closest behind Greenwood on the pecking order none-other-than Phil Ivey who has been participating in all of the events this week and will be sitting in a healthy position for his second Day 2 of the series where $800,000 awaits the winner.
