Another day of poker just wrapped up at the Enjoy Punta del Este Resort & Casino in Punta del Este, Uruguay. Luis Gustavo Kamei bagged the chip lead with 4,210,000 chips and he is followed by Luis Gustavo (4,100,000), Rainer Kempe (2,750,000), and Chino Rheem (2,730,000). Defending Champion Marty Mathis managed to bag 3,995,000 chips and is with that close to the top of the leaderboard. He brings 133 big blinds to Day 2 where they will start with blinds at 15,000/30,000 with a button ante of 30,000.
A total of 168 entries were made in the second and final starting day of the Main Event. 98 made it through to Day 2 and plenty of familiar faces found a bag at the end of Day 1b. The tournament now has a total of 323 entries but they will need plenty more to reach the $5,000,000 guaranteed prize pool. Late registration is still open in the first two levels of Day 2 and players can reenter how many times they please.
The partypoker PRO team is well presented in the chip counts with Roberto Romanello (2,600,000), Ludovic Geilich (2,060,000), Dzmitry Urbanovich (1,860,000), Renato Nomura (1,795,000), Joao Simao (1,620,000), and Richard Dubini (1,250,000). managed to take chips to Day 2. They will all take a seat at the start of Day 2 and are still in the running to take home some money.
Some players weren’t as fortunate and had to reenter today. Jacob Daniels finished third in the $25,500 Super High Roller the day before and was eliminated twice on Day 1b. He bought in for a third time and it all looked to be going his way but he lost a big five million chip pot twenty minutes before the end of the day. He managed to make it to the end of the day and he bagged 1,900,000 chips.
Make sure to tune in tomorrow on PokerCentral for the live coverage when they continue Thursday, February 13, at noon local time. PokerGO will have the live stream running.

Assorted end-of-day chip counts are to follow.
Daniels Loses a Five Million Pot
![Jacob Daniels](https://storage.googleapis.com/pokercentral/2020/02/e9e9cd86-msa-2020-main-event-dia-1b-jacob-daniels1.jpg)
We must admit we missed the action, but one player yelling at the top of his lungs got our attention. When we rushed over, the dealer was shoving a monster pot to the player in the two-seat with the cards already face down.
We later learned that it had been Jacob Daniels who was on the losing end of the five-million pot, getting it in on the turn with pocket queens against king-jack on a king-jack-high board. Daniels’ wasn’t convincing enough to get his opponent to fold top-two, and he was left considerably shorter than just moments ago when he was amongst the bigger stacks in the room.

Small One For Price
Oliver Price raised to 50,000 from middle position and he was called by big blind Jacob Daniels, who is already on his third bullet of the day.
Both checked after the [acksqc] flop was dealt and the [jd] was added to the board. Daniels led out with a bet of 55,000 this time and he was called by Price.
The [2h] completed the board and Daniels checked to Price this time. Price bet 75,000 but the price was too high for Daniels who got out of the way.

More for Geilich
The player under the gun opened for 55,000 and Ludovic Geilich called under the gun plus one. That invited the cutoff and the big blind to call as well so it was four-way to the flop.
On [6h6d5d], the big blind checked. The initial-raiser bet 75,000 and Geilich called as did the cutoff. The big blind shoved for 475,000 and the initial-raiser folded. Geilich shoved over the top for 870,000 and the cutoff gave up after a short time in the tank.
Ludovic Geilich: [7s7c]
Big blind: [AdJd]
The [3c] on the turn was a blank and the [4s] on the river gave Geilich the straight he didn’t even need. partypoker’s Geilich now up to 1.75 million in chips.

Omar Eliminated With a Bang
Argentinian player Omar busted out of the tournament with a bang, literally.
Matheus Pimenta raised to 45,000 and four players, including partypoker PRO Joao Simao from the hijack and Omar from the small blind.
The flop fell [kc7s5h] and all five players checked. The turn was the [8c] and Omar led out with a bet of 100,000. The only player that called the bet was Pimenta.
The river was the [3c] and Omar bet 200,000 with 330,000 behind. Pimenta thought for a minute before putting a big stack of 100,000 chips in the middle to put Omar effectively all in. Omar thought about it before he stood up, called, and immediately tabled [9c6d] for a straight.
Pimenta showed [ac7c] for the nut flush and he won the pot.
Omar punched his chair before leaving the tournament area.
