![Marty Mathis](https://storage.googleapis.com/pokercentral/2020/02/33b62e69-marty-mathis.jpg)
Daniel Vejar opened the cutoff for 125,000 and Esteban Gini called from the button. Big blind Marty Mathis over called from the big blind to make it three-handed to the flop.
Mathis checked on [Kd4c4s] and Vejar shoved for 775,000. Gini called and so did Mathis.
The [7h] on the turn saw Mathis bet out 600,000 into the empty side-pot. Gini was interested and called.
With 1.2 million in the side-pot, Mathis jammed on the [Jc] river. Gini, who had 1.9 million behind, tanked for some time before eventually calling.
Mathis showed [4d4h] for flopped quads. Vejar mucked his [AsKh] and Gini showed [AcKs] before making his exit.
Mathis, who won last year’s partypoker MILLIONS South America Main Event and finished runner-up in this year’s $25,500, now on almost 9 million in chips.

Gonzalez Three-Bets the Flop, Folds to Four-Bet
![Fabrizio Gonzalez](https://storage.googleapis.com/pokercentral/2020/02/6168d9e7-fabrizio-gonzalez-chipleade.jpg)
Yehia Ali Lama opened the action raising to 85,000 from middle position. Fabrizio Gonzalez called from the big blind.
The two saw a flop of [5c6c9c] and Gonzalez led for 65,000. Lama was quick enough to raise to 180,000. Gonzalez needed only a couple of seconds to three-bet to 415,000. Lama had his 715,000-stack in the middle almost before Gonzalez had committed his reraise.
Gonzalez tanked for a bit, played around with his chips, and said he was about to fold two-pair since he thought he was drawing dead against his opponent’s flopped top set of nines.
“You show I show,” Gonzalez said. Lama didn’t budge just yet.
Gonzalez eventually folded, repeating his request to see some cards in exchange for showing his own that were still in front of him.
Lama showed the [Tc] and Gonzalez showed the [5d].
When the dealer started to push the pot to Lama, he showed the [Kc] as well for the flopped king-high flush. Gonzalez didn’t show his second card but the table seemed pretty sure the Uruguayan high roller hadn’t just folded two pair.

Mathis Takes it Slow
Marty Mathis limped from the small blind and the player in the big blind checked his option. The flop came down [adks9c] and the American checked his option. The big blind fired a bet of 50,000 and Mathis called.
The turn was the [jc] and both players checked. The [qc] was dealt on the river and the defending champion checked again. His opponent did the same and Mathis showed [kh6h] but it wasn’t good against the [as7h] of his neighbor.
Mathis is up about 500,000 since the start of the day despite losing this small pot.

Bruno Politano got his chips in the middle with [thtc] in a preflop raising war with his neighbor who had [askc]. It was a coin flip and they left it up to the dealer.
The [ks8s7d] flop immediately brought a king which was bad news for Politano and he had just one out left on after the [5s] turn. The river was the [8h] and Politano was eliminated.
