Small Pot for Papazian
Leon Louis opened under the gun for 13,000 and bracelet winner Alexandru Papazian called from the big blind.
Papazian checked on [9c7d2s] and called the 28,000 continuation bet that followed. The [Ts] on the turn saw both players check before Papazian bet 36,000 on the [6s] river. Louis used a time extension card before eventually tossing his cards into the muck.

River Slows Sinclair and Deadman
Roberto Romanello opened under the gun +1 to 12,000 but was to take no further part in the hand after a three-bet from neighbour Simon Deadman to 40,000 and a cold four-bet from small blind Jack Sinclair (to 125,000). Deadman made the call.
Flop: [Jd5d3c]. Sinclair led out 70,000 called by Deadman.
Turn: [Ts]. Sinclair led again, this time for 150,000 called by Deadman right as his shot clock ran out.
River: [Kd]. Betting stopped at this point (not without some quiet reflection) and Sinclair showed down [AhKs]; Deadman mucked.

Martinez Checks His Trips All the Way (Only Raising Once)
Heads up between big blind Raul Martinez and button Daniel Rezaei (preflop opener): Martinez checked the [Jc5sJh] flop, Rezaei bet 15,000 and Martinez raised to 65,000. Rezaei made the call and bet the [9c] turn when Martinez went back to checking (50,000). Martinez called, then checked once more on the [4s] river. This time Rezaei checked behind and was shown [Thjd], mucking his hand.

Kromidias the First to Go
![Jiayu Ruan (photo: Mickey May/partypoker)](https://storage.googleapis.com/pokercentral/2020/01/1c5a39e5-090120_millionsuk_main_day1b_231119_mm_136897_49355866238_o.jpg)
When we arrived at the table, the board was already out and Christopher Kromidias was shoving all in. We got the rest of the details after the hand and here’s what happened.
Action folded to Jiayu Ruan on the button and he opened. Kromidias called from the big blind.
Kromidias check-called a bet on the [QhJd6c] flop and another bet on the [2d] on the turn.
With the [5h] completing the board, Kromidias shoved for 308,000 into the 100,000 pot. Ruan thought about it for a bit and eventually called.
Kromidias showed [6s5d] for a rivered two pair, but would soon need to head to the rail as Ruan tabled [QdJh].

God Loves a Tryer
Alex Foxen’s stack took an early hit after a river bluff with a busted straight draw failed to dissuade short stack Anthony Nicholls from calling. A pot of over half a million chips was already formed when Foxen made his river bet (it looked like 350,000) into two players. Nicholls, down to 150,000, called all in alone.
Nicholls: [AdQh]
Foxen: [Jcth]
Foxen’s neighbour Max Silver said, “Good effort,” while Nicholls added, “God loves a tryer.”

Brammer Versus Rezaei
When we got to the table, big blind Daniel Rezaei checked on [Kc3s6d]. Seated under the gun, Christopher Brammer bet 12,000 and Rezaei check-raised to 35,000. Brammer called.
The [6s] on the turn was checked through before the [Ah] completed the board. Rezaei took his time and with five seconds left, he bet a hefty 200,000. Brammer called but mucked after Rezaei showed [6c7c] for rivered trips.

Early Boost for Romanello
Roberto Romanello, partypoker Pro and early table chip leader, is in that position mainly thanks to a hand vs. Jozsef Liszkovics. Caught from the river on a board standing [8sJd9h4s9s], Romanello had bet out 350,000 into a pot of 250,000 and Liszkovics was considering this. He eventually tossed in a single call-signifying chip and was shown [9c4c] for a full house. A very slight head-shake later and Romanello was paid and up to over 1.4 million. Today’s full house may go some way to negating the pain of yesterday’s (which was beaten by a higher one to bust him from Day 1a).

Better Start for Silver
Yesterday, on Day 1a, Max Silver was one of the first to bust, getting it in good against Oliver Price but getting outdrawn. Today, so far, is better.
We walked up as Silver was betting out 27,000 from the big blind on a board of [5h7s9s] [Qh] [8s]. His neighbor on his left called, but mucked upon being shown Silver’s [4s6c] for the rivered straight.
