Zheng Joins Chip Leaders

Geilich Had a Great Start
Ludovic Geilich started the day with just over 2 million in chips but doubled early on. He just told us how he found pocket tens on the button in one of the first hands of the day and he opened to 75,000. The small blind three-bet to 300,000 and the big blind folded. Geilich made it 845,000 and called the shove that followed. Geilich was up against pocket jacks but caught a ten to double up through his German neighbor. Geilich has since accumulated a ton more chips, coming out of the last break with 7.5 million in chips.

Ponomarev Eats into Break with Big Decision
With 620,000 in the middle, two players were still at the table when most others had gone for a short break – Nikolay Ponomarev and Philipp Zukernik.
The board was out: [3h4h2s7s9h], the nine of hearts the river card. Zukernik bet 1,100,000 – more than Ponomarev’s remaining 600,000. Ponomarev, who’s had a great time at the MILLIONS already this week having taken down the $1,000 Mini for $150,000, went deep into the tank.
He stood up, played with some chips, stared at the board and generally ran the clock down with what was clearly a tough decision for his tournament life. Finally, he made the call.

When we arrived, Kristen Bicknell had her chips in the middle already. From the big blind, she was all in for 400,000 against David Taborsky in the hijack.

Jones Demonstrates Snappiest of Snap-Calls with Set
Iwan Jones was the sole opponent for Job Greben post a [3std6s] flop, having defended his big blind to an early-position open (with 1,380,000 behind). Jones checked and Greben bet 75,000. Facing a check-raise to 190,000, Greben paused momentarily, then set his much shorter-stacked opponent all in.
