Day 3 of the $10,300 partypoker MILLIONS UK Main Event saw 76 in-the-money players from both the live and online arenas convene at Dusk Till Dawn. They had the goal to play towards a final table and a shot at the 2020 title and $1,000,000 first prize that comes with it.
Guaranteed at least $20,000 when they sat down at noon, the twelve players who have made the final day have locked up at least $50,000 for their efforts. Three players are bunched at the top of the counts: overall leader James Romero (77.9 million), Jamie O’Connor (73.5 million) and Weijie Zheng (71.7 million). Romero and Zheng shared a late-night stint on the feature table where action flowed thick and fast; the latter (last year’s Irish Open champion) had maintained the chip lead through most of the day and barely relinquished it at the eleventh hour.
Lying fourth in chips is the winner of the inaugural MILLIONS UK Main Event, Maria Lampropoulos. The £1,000,000 first-place prize ($1,255,004) she picked up here in 2017 is the biggest of her career, though she came close in 2018 when she won another $1,081,100 in January in the Bahamas. Lampropoulos collected multiple scalps over the course of the day, busting (among others) Anthony Romanello (one of three brothers including partypoker PRO Roberto who all, incredibly, made the money in the Main Event) as well as Georgy Philippovich and Martin Mulsow in the same hand.
Finishing tantalizingly close to the final table were the likes of MILLIONS Online champion Benjamin Chalot (22nd for $40,000), Patrick Leonard (17th), Carlos Chadha (15th), Peter Chien (14th) and last to be eliminated Robert Heidorn.
Returning tomorrow more modestly stacked are the likes of the early challenger for the chip lead Anton Suarez, whose 41 million chips still represent 34 big blinds. Jack Hardcastle, Alex Lindop, Christian Rudolph and Fredrik Andersson round out this middle bunch, with the bottom of the counts represented by the – still dangerous – partypoker PRO Ludovic Geilich, John Mooney and James Clarke.
Play restarts at noon, with the live stream – and live coverage in time with it – beginning at 1 pm, as the final challengers for the MILLIONS UK title get back to the felt.

O’Connor Bluffs the Last Hand
In the last hand of the night, Christian Rudolph opened for 2.1 million under the gun. Anton Suarez called from the cutoff and Jamie O’Connor called from the big blind.
O’Connor checked on [3d5h3c] and saw initial-raiser Rudolph check as well. Suarez bet 2.5 million and O’Connor check-raised to 7 million. Rudolph folded, Suarez called.
The [7d] hit the turn and O’Connor bet 12 million. Suarez tanked for a bit before he folded.
O’Connor showed [6c8c].
Four More Hands
And the day is done. We’ll report back shortly with end-of-day chip counts.
Heidorn Immediately Follows Chien to Rail in 13th ($50,000)

Robert Heidorn, nursing an extremely short stack for over an orbit, went all in right after seeing the back of Peter Chien – for just 2,300,000 – after Jack Hardcastle’s preflop open to 2,200,000 with [qx9s]. Big blind Weijie Zheng came along for the ride with [jd7h] as far as the [3d9cah] flop, but folded to Hardcastle’s 1,500,000 bet. Heidorn remained with the best hand over the [3s6c] turn and river, and the Main Event lost back-to-back players.

Immediately following Carlos Chadha’s bust out, Peter Chien moved all in preflop under the gun with [6c6s] for his 14,300,000. Maria Lampropoulos wasted no time in making the call with [qhqs], which stayed ahead over the [7sac7sjs3s] run-out.

Carlos Chadha Eliminated in 15th place ($50,000)

Carlos Chadha was down to his last 11,700,000 in chips and shoved under the gun plus one. Alex Lindop over shoved from the cutoff and the button and both blinds folded.
Carlos Chadha: [Ah8h]
Alex Lindop: [JdJc]
The flop of [9hQs6s] didn’t bring much hope for Chadha but the [2h] on the turn gave him some hope. The [9d] on the river, though, was a blank and Chadha said his goodbyes whishing the players at the table good luck.

Romero Wins Giant Pot with Big River Call
Robert Heidorn was the preflop raiser (to 2,400,000) with [ks7c], and would go on to fire at every available opportunity. Sole caller James Romero (with [tc9s]) called Heidorn’s continue on the [8s6h2h] flop, then his 6,000,000 bet on the [Ts] turn – which he’d hit.
The river paired the board with the [8d]. Romero used two timebank cards before checking for a third time. Heidorn moved forward most of his stack, a bet of 14,000,000. After thinking for a while more, Romero made the call and was shown Heidorn’s king high, and what it’s like to be the chip leader.

Hardcastle Wins a Chunky Pot from Lampropoulos

Chip leader Maria Lampropoulos raised preflop with [tstc] to 1,800,000, called by big blind Jack Hardcastle with [ah5d]. He proceeded to check-call her 1,600,000 bet on the [kd4h6h] flop. The turn was the [9h] and Hardcastle changed tack, leading out for 4,500,000. Lampropoulos made the call. Hardcastle made his ace-high flush on the river with the [3h]. He led again for an even 10,000,000 and Lampropoulos called no more.
