Leonard Loses Some to O’Connor
Patrick Leonard opened the hijack for 1.2 million and Jamie O’Connor in the big blind called.
O’Connor check-called a bet of 650,000 on [9d8h3s] before they both checked the [Kc] on the turn. The [8s] on the river saw O’Connor bet out 3 million and Leonard called after using a time extension card.
O’Connor showed [Ks7s] and Leonard mucked.

Zheng and Hardcastle in the Ring
Weijie Zheng and Jack Hardcastle make for aggressive and tricksy neighbours on the feature table. Both equipped with towering stacks and the willingness to put them to use, an illustrative example happened when it folded round to them on the blinds.
Small blind Zheng raised to 1,600,000, big blind Hardcastle called. On the [ks2d6d] flop, missed definitively by the both of them, Zheng led out for 1,000,000, called by Hardcastle.
The turn: [5h]. Zheng checked, Hardcastle bet 2,000,000 and Zheng quickly check-raised to 6,000,000. In the battle of no hands, Zheng’s won.
One hand later, and Hardcastle won the couple of million straight back.
Bet, Bet, Overbet
Ludovic Geilicht opened under the gun for 1,350,000 and big blind Anton Suarez called. Suarez check-called a bet of 600,000 on [8hAd3c] and another 1,875,000 on the [Ks] turn.
The [Jd] completed the board and Suarez checked a third time. With his clock running down, Geilich announced a bet of 8.7 million. Suarez needed a time extension before deciding to fold.
Michael Allmrodt Busts in 20th ($40,000)
A fold round to the small blind. An ace in said small blind for short stack Michael Allmrodt. This is the recipe for a shove for 5,650,000 (just under ten big blinds); he was given a spin by very healthily stacked Jack Hardcastle in the big blind.
Hardcastle: [kh4s]
Allmrodt: [As3c]
The flop looked like a double was on the cards for Allmrodt: [2s3d3s]. The turn brought the [6h] and the river the [5s], the inside straight for Hardcastle, a series of wincing noises from the comms team and a trip to the cash desk for Allmrodt.

Three Barrels for O’Connor
The action folded to Jamie O’Connor on the button and he opened for a min raise to 1.2 million. Big blind Fredrik Andersson called.
Andersson check-called 800,000 on [Kd10hQs] and another 3 million on the [6d] turn.
The river completed the board with a [3c] and Andersson checked for the last time. O’Connor used two time extension cards before deciding to bet 6.7 million. Now it was time for Andersson to use his time extensions and he used two before deciding to fold.
Nicholas Romanello Busts in 21st Place
Nicholas Romanello’s deep run in the Main Event has come to an end in 21st place. All in preflop again, looking for a triple through this time, he was flat called preflop by Weijie Zheng (in full disguise mode) and big blind Robert Heidorn.
Romanello: [ad7s]
Zheng: [Kdkc]
Heidorn: [9h3h]
Zheng checked back the [6d4c2d] flop but lost Heidorn with a 1,500,000 bet on the [7h] turn. The river was neither an ace nor a seven ([ts]) and Romanello headed out to pick up $40,000.

Huge Pot Nearly Felts Final Romanello

Nicholas Romanello dropped to just one big blind after a pot (involving a big river call) vs. James Clarke. Clarke had opened on the button with [asqs] and picked up big blind Romanello, who held [Ks9c].
Romanello flopped top pair on a rainbow board; both players checked. With the turn, the board now stood: [kcjd4s3s]. Romanello led this street for over 2,000,000 and Clarke called. The river completed the spade flush for Clarke with the [7s].
Romanello checked. Clarke went for a deep reach, betting 10,000,000 – almost all of Romanello’s remaining chips. It paid off: Romanello called to see his opponent’s ace-high flush and paid him most of his chips.
The very next hand, ultra-short Romanello picked up [AsQh] and went four-way to the river (his action over with the preflop call all-in), quadrupling his chips when he hit the nut straight on the turn.
