Sam Greenwood made it 5,000 to see a flop with [AhKh] and Darren Elias raised to 16,000 with [JhJs].
Greenwood saw everyone else fold and made it 38,000 with a four-bet and the heat – and the cameras – were back on the four-time WPT Main Event winner Elias. After sliding in a time extension card, Elias then moved all-in, getting the call from Greenwood, who was at risk.
The flop of [7dKc2s] gave Greenwood the lead, and the [4c] turn and [8s] saw his pair of kings ride the board to a double-up at Elias’s expense, leapfrogging his opponent in the hand.

Feature Table Chip Counts
With six players at the feature table, the man in control is Bosnian player Ali Imsirovic, though he is followed in the counts by Darren Elias.
After Stephen Chidwick’s recent hand against Sam Greenwood, each player has lost a few chips, but it’s Greenwood who is most affected by that, and although this is only Day 1, he really could do with some substantive pots to battle his way back into contention.

Sam Greenwood Bluffs the River
On a full board of[KcAc6s5s3c], Sam Greenwood bet into a pot of 32,000 with [QcTh].
It was Stephen Chidwick with the big decision to make with [Ah3h] and the British player used a time extension chip to give himself another 60 seconds to act on top of the regulation 30.
Eventually, Chidwick made the call and he now has 197,000, something of a recovery for him after a tricky start. Sam Greenwood is the shortest stack in the tournament.

Immediately Katz entered the tank and threw in a time extension chip. Only 15 seconds would expire before he threw an additional one in to give him the full 150 seconds to deliberate.
With Katz’s time now ticking down, he announced he was all in for roughly 520,000. Kenney snap-folded and Katz shows his [JhJd].

“He made a face,” Katz said, “So that made me happy. And he called.”
Katz showed [AsQs] and busted the Aussie who tabled [TxTx] and caught no help on the turn or river.
