Cary Katz Doubles in a Hand That Puzzled Phil Ivey
Cary Katz and Phil Ivey limped and Chris Brewer moved all in. Katz called and the action stopped at Ivey.
“How much is that?” Ivey asked, pointing at Katz’ stack. Katz had 592,000, just a little more than Ivey. Brewer had them both covered.
Ivey tanked for a couple of minutes, burning several timebanks.
“I think I know what you have,” Elton Tsang said while Ivey was trying to figure out his move.
“Not quite what you think,” Ivey replied.
Eventually, Ivey decided to let his hand go.
Katz: [QhQs]
Brewer: [AhKc]
The board came down [9c9sJd8sTh] and Katz doubled up as a few players from the other table came to sweat the runout.
“Ten-eight of clubs,” Ivey announced, putting an end to the hand that saw Katz vault over the 1-million mark.

Cary Katz Fades Elimination After Spiking the Last Ace in the Deck
Cary Katz shoved for 338,000 and the action folded to Mikita Badziakouski, who called from the button.
Katz woke up with the [AdAh] and he looked in good shape to double through his opponent’s [JsJc].
The flop came [Qd8c6c] and Katz was still ahead.
“Pair the board,” Katz said.
But the dealer turned up the [Jh] instead.
“Jesus,” Katz said and stood up.
The river, however, allowed him to return back to his seat as the [As] hit the felt.
“I folded ace-eight!” Jason Koon said, indicating that Katz hit the last ace in the deck.
Meanwhile, Wai Kin Yong was eliminated from a different table, bringing the field down to two six-handed tables.

Lucky Hand Not So Lucky for Elton Tsang

Elton Tsang made it 70,000 from the hijack and his neighbor Winfred Yu reraised all in for 370,000. Tsang was reluctant to call, but still, he put the chips into the middle.
Tsang’s [Jc9c] was dominated by Yu’s [Ac9d]. The [Qh6hQsKd6d] was safe for Yu, who doubled up.
“That was my lucky hand,” Tsang said.
“Not so lucky,” he added.

Ivan Leow’s Short Deck Day Is Over
Ivan Leow found the [TsTh] in an early position and raised all in for around 190,000. Kanstantsin Osipau squeezed the [QsQd] on the button and called.
Both players hit a set on the [QcAsTc8c6c] board, leaving Leow with the worse hand.
