The 2022 U.S. Poker Open continued from the PokerGO Studio at ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, with Event #2: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha attracting a total of 77 entrants. The $770,000 prize pool would pay the final 11 players, and when the dust settled, it would be Tommy Le holding a commanding chip lead over the final six players with 4,160,000 in chips – close to half the chips in play.
Trailing Le include Justin Young and Dylan Weisman who both sit over one million in chips, while Dan Shak, Damjan Radanov, and Alex Foxen round out the final table. The final six players are all guaranteed $46,200 in prize money, but all eyes are on the $200,200 first-place prize and U.S. Poker Open title.
Event #2: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha kicked off on Thursday across four tables as the field eventually swelled out to 77 entrants. Many new faces took a seat throughout Event #2 among the PokerGO Tour regulars, and after two tables were added at the close-of-registration, action sped up as players were eliminated at a consistent rate until the tournament was down to the final two tables. With the money fast approaching, Steve Zolotow, Jared Bleznick, and Martin Zamani were all eliminated before Alex Livingston would be eliminated on the money bubble after he bet-called all-in on the river with a flush. Livingston, unfortunately, ran into the nut flush of Zak Laikin to leave the final 11 players in-the-money.
Adam Hendrix, Joseph Wagganer, Philip Long, and Sam Soverel were all eliminated before the final table of seven was reached. As the short stacks looked to survive to the PokerGO streamed final table, Dylan Weisman scored a huge double through Le before Alex Foxen found a near-triple with aces. Another orbit passed before Laikin would call off from the big blind against Foxen, and when he could only improve to one pair against Foxen’s two pair, the final table of six was set.
Le is eyeing his eight Pot-Limit Omaha title to go with over $4.1 million in lifetime tournament earnings. Most recently at the 2021 World Series of Poker, Le collected four Pot-Limit Omaha cashes including a runner-up finish and his second WSOP bracelet in the $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship. If the cards keep falling Le’s way, he will add a third $10,000 buy-in Pot-Limit Omaha victory to his impressive poker resume. For Foxen, he is looking to consolidate his position on the 2022 PokerGO Tour leaderboard where he currently sits in 13th place and a victory will move him into eight-place overall.
