Imsirovic Leads Event #5 – $25,000 No-Limit Hold’em With 6 Left
The reigning Poker Masters champion has made his first U.S. Poker Open final table and holds the chip lead with six left. Ali Imsirovic enters the day almost one million chips in front of the next closest player, Dan Shak.
Cary Katz and Joseph Cappello are both making their second 2019 USPO final table appearances. Katz finished fifth in Event #2 ($51,200). Cappello finished fourth in Event #1 for $90,000.
Nick Petrangelo, Kristen Bicknell, and Shak are making their first final table appearances of this series. They all have roughly the same stack entering the day and will be looking to stop Imsirovic from carrying the start-of-day chip lead to a victory. Shak cashed for $25,600 when he finished eighth in Event #2. This is Bicknell’s first ever cash in a Poker Central event and Petrangelo’s first cash since he finished sixth in the 2018 Super High Roller Bowl.
Cappello enters the day as a very short stack, and Katz is close behind him. Imsirovic, who made a majority of his $3,459,237 in career winnings last year, and won the Poker Masters in the process, hadn’t cashed a tournament in 2019 before now. He’s positioned himself to possibly put a dent in Sean Winter’s overall USPO lead, as Winter finally managed to miss a final table at this year’s USPO.
