Cary Katz limped the button with [KcQs6s3c] and Tom Marchese raised the pot to 240,000 and Katz called.
The flop came [Jc9h4h] and Marchese was first to act. There was 600,000 in the pot and Marchese made it a pot bet to go with [QhQcJs5s]. Katz reraised to get the rest of Marchese’s chips into the pot and Marchese called.
The players tabled their hands and the sweat was over pretty quick when the [2c] hit the turn, giving Katz a flush and left Marchese drawing dead. The river, though irrelevant was the [6c].
This puts Katz in the chip leader to face Chidwick heads up for the Event #6 title. Chidwick is now in the lead of the overall USPO standings and Katz is in third place. The result of this tournament could play a huge role as the USPO is more than half over.

Katz Takes The Lead
After a pot where all three players limped and the action checked to the river, Cary Katz bet 125,000 and Tom Marchese and Stephen Chidwick folded. Then Katz made the second-nut flush and picked up a little more.

Chidwick Now Tied for USPO Lead With Sean Winter
With at least a third-place finish locked up, Stephen Chidwick is now tied with Sean Winter in the number one spot on the U.S. Poker Open leaderboard. With one more elimination, Chidwick can once again claim the overall lead with four events to go.

Lamb let for 200,000 with [Kh7h9s6s] and Katz reraised the pot with [AcJh9h8d] putting Lamb’s remaining stack at risk when Lamb called.
The turn was the [5h] and the river was the [8d], giving Katz a full house and eliminating Lamb in fourth place. Lamb will take home $97,500 for his finish.

Katz Rivers the Best of It
