Mikita Badziakouski’s tournament is at an end after a dramatic hand saw him just miss the money.
Pre-flop, Ben Tollerene made it 60,000 with [Kh2h] and Badziakouski made the call with [8h6h].
The flop of [Ks5h9d] saw Tollerene c-bet 50,000 and Badziakouski called, and with 265,000 in the pot, On the turn of [4h], Ben Tollerene led for another 175,000. On a day where it has been commonplace for players to have the same suit with their cards, both chasing the flush, Badziakouski moved all-in with [8h6h] and he was quickly called.
“Oh, I’m dead!” he gasped in. Not quite, but four outs wasn’t hopeful for him.
Only a seven would save the Belarussian, but the river [9x] saw Tollerene move into a decisive lead for heads-up and burst the bubble, leaving the unfortunate Belarussian to miss out on the money.

With a bet of 60,000 coming from Ben Tollerene with [JsTd], Christoph Vogelsang raised all-in with [AsKd] and Tollerene made the call.
With a low flop, Vogelsang maintained the lead, but on the turn of [Jd], Tollerene take the lead and when the river landed the [Th], that was the end of Christoph Vogelsang’s day.
Having finished second and fourth in the final two events of the 2019 British Poker Open, the German will still feel disappointed with the end of his series. Poker can be cruel.

Tollerene just called pre-flop with [AdKd] and Vogelsang decided to raise to 60,000 with [8c2h].
Tollerene raised all-in of course, leaving the German super-short after he folded. Did Vogelsang just preserve his tournament life or delay the inevitable?

There was 110,000 in the pot as the flop of [Td3d9d] came down. Cary Katz checked with [Ad7d] Vogelsang and checked back with [Qd5d].
The turn of [Jh] saw the German player bet 50,000, and Katz tossed in the chips as casually as possible.
The river [Kd] saw the players have both the nuts and the second nuts. Vogelsang bet 115,000, but was raised to 230,000 by Katz. He made the call, losing the minimum given the circumstances, but the German pro is now shorter than Tollerene in the counts.

Ben Tollerene came into play as the short-stack, and with his stack representing just 15 big blinds, he needs to make moves soon to chip up.
In the third hand of play, Tollerene moved all-in with ace-jack over Mikita Badziakouski’s opening bet with [Ac3c], but the Belarussian got out of the way with a smart fold.
Cary Katz made it 40,000 with [Ks5s] and Tollerene raised to 100,000, this time with pocket kings, but Katz also dodged the premium hand.

The final event of the 2019 British Poker Open featured the biggest buy-in of the series and when the final table returns, the biggest score of the series will be up for grabs. A dozen of the world’s best players contributed to the prize pool and when Day 1 concluded, Cary Katz was ahead of them all.
The chip leader was one of the last players to register and while it took Katz a while to get going, some timely doubles shot him up the leaderboard. The biggest pot of Katz’s night came against Matthias Eibinger, who eventually ended up bubbling tomorrow’s PokerGO stream. Katz limped, a tactic he regularly used through Day 1, and then got ace-king in against Eibinger’s jacks.
Katz spiked a king on the flop to win the flip and he stayed near the top of the counts throughout the rest of the night.
Eibinger was left short and he spent the next few levels exchanging blows with Mikita Badziakouski. The Belarusian and Austrian clashed multiple times, with Badziakouski eventually winning out. Christoph Vogelsang was also on a short stack for some of the night, but he finished on an uptick that has him above the chip average.
Ben Tollerene held nearly half the chips in play after the redraw, but he’ll return to final official final table below the average.
Watch the final four return to play to a winner live on PokerGO on Thursday, with play resuming at 12 PM local time. The PokerGO live stream will be on a one-hour delay and begins at 8:00 AM ET/5:00 AM PT.
