Cary Katz Doubles With Aces
Rainer Kempe called and Anson Tsang moved all-in as the second player to act.
Sam Greenwood folded and Cary Katz called to put his tournament at risk with just over 1,100,000 chips. The rest of the table folded and two of the top stacks clashed in a classic Short Deck flip.
Katz held [AdAs] and said, “You have the right hand to do it.” after Tsang tabled [JdTs].
The chip leader got the flop he was looking for, but couldn’t beat the blades after the board ran out [QsTd8hQhJh].
When the stacks were cut down, Katz regained his spot atop the leaderboard.

Slow Play, Tsang Pulling Away
The first half of Level 15 has yet to see a shove and call, but Anson Tsang isn’t complaining.
He’s continued to chip up and now controls close to 3,000,000.
On the other end of the spectrum, Rainer Kempe has just over 10% of Tsang’s stack.

Tsang Continues to Build on Chip Lead
Anson Tsang is now playing more than 2,000,000 after picking off a Cary Katz bluff on the river.
The pair headed to the flop with close to 350,000 in the middle, but the [Jc9c7s] board didn’t bring much action. Both players checked and then checked again after the [6h] fell on the turn.
The [Ts] completed the board and Katz, after using a time extension before tapping the table on the turn, quickly bet 300,000.
Tsang looked at the stacks around him and on the tournament clock before he threw in a single chip.
Katz slid [AcKs] across the table and said, “He wins.”
Tsang slowly turned over [QhQd] and took the pot to extend his chip lead.

After knocking Danny Tang under 1,000,000 chips, Anson Tsang sent Robert Flink below that threshold after winning another pot with the nuts.
Action was picked up with just over 240,000 in the pot and Tsang check-calling 60,000 on the [Ac6c6h] flop.
Both players checked the [9h] turn and after the [7h] completed the board, Tsang bet 110,000.
Flink quickly called and Tsang tabled [AhTh] for a rivered nut flush.
The Swede shook his head and then started counting down his stack, while Tsang chipped up to take the chip lead.

Danny Tang Goes Into The Tank
Danny Tang was briefly over the 1,000,000 chip mark, but is now back under the chip average after losing a pot to Anson Tsang.
Action was picked up with four players checking through the [Ad8h7s] flop. The [Ts] came on the turn and Sam Greenwood checked before Cary Katz followed behind.
Tang bet 80,000 and Tsang was the only caller from the cutoff.
The [Kh] completed the board and Tang checked to his in-position countryman. After a few seconds, Tsang bet 180,000 and immediately Tang started talking.
“I should have block-bet and three-bet jammed.” he said while re-checking his cards and counting down his stack.
He went through two time extensions, trying to work his way through what he could beat.
“Not much.” he admitted.
Eventually, he called and Tsang tabled [QdJs].
“The nuts? Boring!” Tang said while he watched Tsang stack more than a million.

Katz Catches Quads, Kempe Catches One Outer to Eliminate Lim

Chin Wei Lim seemed to be trending up at this final table, but after two hands he was sent to the rail in 7th place.
The first saw Cary Katz bet 53,000 with the completed board reading [Ad8s8dTdAh].
Lim used an extension before he raised to 300,000 – leaving himself just over 180,000 behind.
Katz didn’t take much time to reply with a raise of his own, putting Lim all-in. Despite committing most of his chips, Lim could only shake his head and fold.
He was happy he did when Katz turned over [AcAs] for rivered quads.
In one of the very next hands, three players were all-in. Danny Tang had both Chin Wei Lim and Rainer Kempe covered, meaning that if he hit he could score a double knockout and end Day 1.
Tang: [AsKh]
Kempe: [KcKs]
Lim: [Tc9s]
Kempe saw one of Tang’s outs come in the window – but his one out came after it as the board ran out [AcKd6s7dTc].
The German is still short heading into the next break, while Katz is back near the top of the leaderboard.
