Chidwick Charging into First Break
Event #5 will take their first break with a Stephen Chidwick atop the leaderboard.
The British pro just clashed with Australia’s Michael Addamo in a massive pot, that ended with Chidwick shoving the river.
The board read [AsTc4h8dKs] and Chidwick tabled [AhKd] after Addamo called.
The Aussie could only shake his head as a majority of his stack was sent across the table to the early £25,000 NLH chip leader.

Sam Soverel Sends Timothy Adams Out
Sam Soverel just put in another river raise and this time he was called.
With the board reading [9c8d6s5h9s], Timothy Adams bet 17,000 from the small blind. Soverel, who was in the big, slid out a full stack of 100,000 to put his opponent all-in.
Adams used a time bank before calling, only to see Soverel turn over [6h6d]. The flopped set grew to a full house by the river to beat Adams’ turned straight – he flashed [Ax7x] before exiting the tournament area.

Second Time in Three Days
Sam Soverel and Elio Fox have clashed a few times during the British Poker Open and the former has come out on top thus far.
Action was picked up after Soverel checked on [JdTcJh2dQs]. Fox, who controlled the button, bet 15,500 and Soverel check-raised to put Fox all-in.
After using an extension, Fox eventually folded.
As Soverel was pushed the pot, Fox shot a look towards his opponent before saying, “That’s the second time in two days that you’ve check-raised me on the river.”

Grafton Goes Over Pot
Action was picked up with Sam Grafton check-calling 3,000 from the blinds against Michael Zhang on a flop of [8d3d2s].
Both Englishmen checked the [Ts] on the turn and Grafton bet 20,000 after the [8c] paired the board on the river.
There was only 12,000 in the pot and as Zhang’s 30-second clock ticked down, it looked like he was going to use an extension. He ended up folding with a few seconds to spare and Grafton joked that he didn’t get anything – a call or a time bank.
“Too valuable.” Zhang said, referencing his three time banks and chips.

Mikita Badziakouski Busts Chidwick
Action was missed, but Mikita Badziakouski busted Stephen Chidwick near the level change.
While Badziakouski is now playing just under double starting, Chidwick has also chipped up since re-entering. He took his new seat between the Spaniards on Table 1 and is quickly up to 170,000.
Luc Greenwood took Chidwick’s seat on Table 3 and is still near starting.

Three Tables From the Start
Three tables are open to start Event #5 of the British Poker Open and there are seven new players that we’ve yet to see through the first four events.
Spanish pro Vincent Bosca and Australian Michael Addamo join 2017 Super High Roller Bowl at Table 1, while Aussie Kahle Burns joins UK pros Ben Heath and Michael Zhang on Table 3. Table 2 features seven players that we’ve already seen at least once throughout the series, including BPO leader Sam Soverel.

Weekend Brings Bigger British Poker Open Buy-Ins
After four days of £10,000 buy-in events, the price of the British Poker Open is going up.
That ascent begins with today’s £25,000 No Limit Hold’em event and continues through the weekend. Four £25K events will run over the next four days, including a bigger buy-in Pot Limit Omaha event on Sunday.
That jump in price point seems to have jump-started the second half of the BPO series. The registration area is packed with new players that we’ve yet to see this week. Those players will be featured shortly, as Poker Central’s coverage of the British Poker Open continues with exclusive live reporting of Event #5.
