A limp-checked pot between small blind Anton Suarez and big blind James Romero has re-plumped the former’s stack. Both players checked a [kh4c3h] flop, Suarez with [7h3d], Romero with [qh7c]. The turn paired Suarez’s other hole card: [7s]. He bet out 7,500,000, called by Romero. On the [2h] river, Suarez bet out a chunky 25,000,000, again called by Romero (not quickly). With that pot, Suarez rises back to challenge Rudolph for the chip lead once more.

The chip lead has changed hands after a big pot between button Anton Suarez and big blind Christian Rudolph. Suarez raised to 7,000,000 with [qhqd]; Rudolph defended with [9c6c]. Rudolph check-raised the [8s7h2h] flop – 7,500,000 to 23,000,000 – with his open-ended straight draw and Suarez made the call.
The turn brought it in for Rudolph, who led out for 18,000,000. With the overpair and queen of hearts for a flush draw, Suarez called.
The river: [3s]. Rudolph now checked. Suarez reached for chips, betting 45,000,000 which Rudolph called. Suarez nodded seeing his opponent’s hand and paid the man his money.

Romero Airballs Suarez Off Top Pair
Another blind vs. blind confrontation between Anton Suarez and James Romero – a dramatic one. Heads up to a [Jc9c7c] flop, Romero, with [Th5h], check-raised Romero’s bet of 2,500,000 to 11,500,000. Suarez, who’d flopped top pair with [jd8d], made the call.
The turn: [3s]. Now Romero led out for 24,000,000 into the huge chip leader, who tank-folded.
James “Raggy” Clarke Busts in 4th ($311,000)

It folded to blinds Anton Suarez and James Clarke. Suarez, against form, simply limped with [9h4h]; Clarke checked his [4d5d]. A flop of [4s6h4c] guaranteed action, although it was delayed until the turn (Suarez check-calling 2,500,000 on the flop).
The turn: [th]. Out led Suarez for 12,500,000. Over to Clarke who moved in for 71,000,000 total to the delight of his rail. They quietened down, however, when they saw the face-up hands, hoping for a chop. The river was the [qh], making Suarez a flush. In super short order we are down to three players.
James Clarke, who qualified for the MILLIONS via an $85 satellite, was greeted to a hero’s welcome by the rail, who know him as Raggy.

Five-handed short stack Fredrik Andersson moved all in preflop for 30,500,000 in the hijack with [ad9d]. Behind him lurked not one, but two better aces – the first belonged to button Anton Suarez with [ahtd]; he called. Over to big blind James Romero, who held [asqh] but after a good think, elected to fold.
Out-kicked, Andersson looked to the [jc3c5h2d5d] board for help. It didn’t bring any, and he headed to the rail in 5th place, busted by the other Swede on the table.

Romero Gets Paid on the River by Suarez
Back to Anton Suarez’s button, which he raised to 5,500,000 with [7d5d]. This time big blind James Romero held [ad9d] and elected to call. He flopped two pair with an [ahjc9c] flop, and checked it. Suarez checked behind. Romero checked again on the [js] turn, again without a bet from Suarez. The river brought the [5s] and a lead out for 14,000,000 from Romero. Suarez, having rivered a pair of fives, thought for about a minute before pressing the call button.

Romero Aware of What Suarez Is Up To
With such a huge stack, Anton Suarez looked to ramp up his preflop aggression, to the point where any two would do on the button. He raised [tc2d] (to 5,500,000) just now, as a case in point. Big blind James Romero was clearly aware of this, as after a short think, he jammed for 60,000,000 with [jc5s] and was rewarded with a snap-fold.
