Zhang’s Kings Crushed by Reeves’ Aces
Rainer Kempe opened the button for 60,000 but would discover soon enough that he wouldn’t be picking up the blinds just that easy. Small blind Michael Zhang three-bet to 230,000 and big blind Luke Reeves cold four-bet to 500,000 even. That was all Kempe needed to hear and he got out of the way soon enough.
With the action back on Zhang, he did a quick count on how much he had behind. Soon enough, he shoved for what appeared to be about 1.6 million total. Reeves wasted no time calling.

Bicknell Bets Her Button (and Flush Draw)
It folded to Kristen Bicknell on the button, who made it 50,000 to go holding [qd2d]. Both blinds called (Preben Stokkan with [KcTh] and Kahle Burns with [Jc8c]).
The flop brought her a flush draw, and paired Burns’ eight: [8d3sAd]. She bet when it was checked to her, and brought only Burns to the [7h] turn. He checked, she fired 205,000 and that was enough to win her the pot.

Vieira Makes Tough River Call
Igor Kurganov found himself in another battle of the blinds, this time in the small blind vs. Joao Vieira. Caught from the flop ([qs7s6c]), Kurganov led out for 25,000, called by Vieira. The turn brought the [As] and another lead from Kurganov, this time for 100,000. Call. The river brought a fourth spade – the [4s]. Kurganov bet once more: 175,000. Now Vieira paused, staring into the flop until he noticed his shot clock was running out of juice and tossed in a timebank card. Halfway through his second lot of seconds, he made the call with [Kh 7h]. Third pair turned out to be good; there wasn’t a spade between them. Kurganov showed [9d8h].

Zhang Calls Correctly
Michael Zhang opened the button and Igor Kurganov called from the big blind. Kurganov check-called 30,000 on [4s4hKc] before they both checked the [Tc] on the turn. Kurganov led for 125,000 on the [2d] river. Zhang called and showed a winner with [Ah3d] as Kurganov’s [QdJc] proved no good.

Kurganov Wins Battle of the Blinds
It folded round to small blind Luke Reeves, who made up the 20,000; big blind Igor Kurganov checked his option.
The [7c3s6s] brought a small bet from Kurganov and a call, but this trend continued – and got pricier – with a bet of 100,000 on the [qd] turn and 200,000 on the [4h] river. Both times Reeves made the call, mucking, finally, on seeing his opponent’s [6d3c] – a flopped two pair. No one said “big blind special” because that’s not the sort of thing high rollers go in for.
Burns Crashes as Reeves Gets Lucky
Kahle Burns opened the hijack for 45,000 and his neighbor Luke Reeves three-bet the cutoff to 150,000. The action folded back around to Burns who four-bet to 375,000. Reeves contemplated his options for a bit before shoving. Burns called instantly.

While Burns was ahead, that all changed on the turn as the board ran out [8hKh9d] [Qd] [2c].
“You win,” Burns said to Kempe while Reeves collected all of his chips. “The flop was red, so I owe you £10.”
While Kempe won £10 betting props and Burns headed to the rail, Reeves was stacking his chips worth about 4.4 million.

Bicknell Unlucky With Queens
Mikita Badziakouski opened the cutoff with [Ah8s] and found a caller in Kirsten Bicknell who picked up [QsQh] in the big blind and slowplayed. Bicknell check-called a bet on [Ac5s4h] and another 120,000 on the [Jc] turn.
The [As] on the river saw Bicknell check a third time. Badziakouski, now with trips in a 404,000 pot, bet 265,000. Bicknell double checked how much it was and eventually called. Badziakouski showed the best hand and Bicknell mucked.
