Ralph Wong Doubles Through George Wolff
Ralph Wong open shoved for 123,000 from early position and George Wolff called in the cutoff. The button and blinds quickly folded before Wong tabled [AhAs]. Wolff needed to hit to score the knockout with [9d9c] and he did – momentarily.
The smaller pocket pair jumped into the lead after the [Th9h4h] flop, but order was restored after the [Qh] completed Wong’s flush on the turn.
The [Ad] completed the board and Wong scored a valuable double up heading towards the end of Level 14.

James Romero Eliminated by Foxen & Blumstein
James Romero moved all-in for 122,000 from early position and Alex Foxen called for less in the small blind. Dan Shak got a count in the big and contemplated calling, before he eventually folded.
When the cards were turned up, Romero needed help with [Qh9c] to [AsKs].
Foxen smacked the flop and Romero was left with just over one big blind after the board ran out [AhAd7c5cJh]. The short stack was eliminated by Scott Blumstein on the very next hand to drop the field below the 20 player mark.

Two Short Doubles
In back-to-back hands, two of the shortest stacks remaining in Event #1 found doubles.
First, Bob Zeidman doubled through Joseph Orsino – winning with [AhQc] against [KdJd] for his final 56,000. Sam Soverel opened the action to 25,000 and Orsino three-bet to 75,000 from the cutoff before Zeidman moved all-in for less from the button.
Soverel eventually folded and Zeidman won after the [5c4d2h2dQs] runout.
Across the room, Sean Winter opened to 24,000 and Scott Blumstein three-bet to 70,000 before Lauren Roberts four-bet shoved from the blinds for 91,000.
Winter folded and Blumstein called – holding [KcQh] to Roberts’ [KhKd]. Pocket kings improved to a flush and Roberts doubled to get back over 20 big blinds.

Soverel Gets There vs Zeidman
Sam Soverel just raised to 20,000 before the flop and Chuanhao Zhang moved all in from this direct left for 53,000. Bob Zeidman made the call and Soverel called as well to create three-way action on the flop.
The flop brought out [TdJsAs] and Soverel checked to Zeidman who moved all in right away.
Soverel slammed his hand on the table and rolled his eyes as he went deep into the tank, burning two time extensions in the process. Eventually, Soverel called creating the following showdown.
Soverel: [QsTs]
Zeidman: [AcJh]
Zhang: [4s4d]
The board ran out [2s], [7d] and Soverel made his flush to rake in this big pot.
