Christoph Vogelsang [8d8s] and opened to 11,000. Darren Elias held [AcKd] and moved all-in for 169,000. A quick call and we were at the races, the starting gun the dealer’s first card from his deck.
The board of [2d3s6d6c4d] saw Vogelsang eliminate the dangerous Darren Elias in 8th place, denying the four-time WPT Main Event winner a berth on the final day.

Chidwick on the Charge
![](https://storage.googleapis.com/pokercentral/2019/09/d01d8fcc-stephen-chidwick_british-poker-open_ata_6864-1024x681.jpg)
Stephen Chidwick just refuses to ever make a pot easy for another player to take away.
Chidwick three-bet to 20,000 following an 11,000 opening bet pre-flop from Darren Elias.
The big action of the hand came on the turn of the board showing [Ts8sJh8d], however, because Chidwick had [8c3d] and [KsQd] for Elias was no good.
Chidwick called with [4c4d] and Badziakouski checked his big blind option in the seat next to Britain’s most successful tournament player. The flop of [5s6c5c] saw both men check. Both men turned an open-ended straight draw on the [7h] turn and Chidwick checked again. Badziakouski bet 10,000 and got a call. The [Ah] river saw Chidwick check, staring down his opponent and watching him also check. Another hand for the impressive Stpehen Chidwick.
It’s been said in the PokerGO studio just now, and it’s absolutely true. The amount of times these players make the right decision is pretty incredible.

Peters Doubles Through Elias
Cary Katz had [9s8s] and opened to 10,000. That bet was raised to 32,000 by Darren Elias with [TcTh] and David Peters moved all-in for 64,000 with [QhQd] He was called only by Darren Elias.
The flop of [JcTs4h] saw Elias hit, but the turn of [Jh] added other jack outs for Peters… none of which he needed on the [Qs] river to keep him alive!
Absolutely no reaction from Peters or Elias, save for the smooth moving of chips across the felt, but Imsirovic couldn’t help but react with an exclamation and some grinning at an extraordinary run-out.
In the next hand, Stephen Chidwick made it 11,000 with [AhQs] and Darren Elias raised to 60,000 with pocket tens. Chidwick folded ace-queen right away.

Elias Bounces Off the Ropes

Three hands may have shaped the tournament for Darren Elias, who first bet 5,000 into the pot of 15,000 on a [9hJcKh] flop. Cary Katz called with [Kc3c] and on the [2h] turn, Katz tossed in a bet of 13,000, and Katz took it down as Elias slid his cards into the muck. Darren Elias is down to less than 100,000, which meant less than twenty big blinds.
Elias then had [AhQc] and moved all-in over Christoph Vogelsang’s opening bet of 10,000. Back up to 24 big blinds after a quick German fold.
Elias had [9h8h] on the button and made the call to Imsirovic’s bet to 11,000 with [KhKs]. The flop of [6cQhTc] saw Imsirovic check, and Elias bet just 12,000. Imsirovic made it 38,000. Elias, 96,000 behind him, made the call.
A sensational [7d] on the turn gave Elias the straight! Imsirovic moved all-in and Elias snap-called to double up in amazing style to 250,500 – 500 chips more than he started the day with.
No reaction from Elias externally, but inside, he must surely be ecstatic. He’s found a way back into this Super High Roller Bowl.

Greenwood and Chidwick Both Claw in Some Chips
Stephen Chidwick raised to 11,000 with [Kd9d] and Mikita Badziakouski called with the [KcQd]. Imsirovic called too with [Th9h] but Sam Greenwood shoved all-in for 308,000 with [8c8s] – 62 big blinds and it was a valuable take-down, adding more than 10% to his stack.
In the next hand, Chidwick made it [QhQc] and Katz called with [Jh8s].
The flop of [8hKs7c] wasn’t even dealt when Katz checked in the dark, and Katz check-called the 10,000 bet on that flop.
The turn [Th] saw Katz check again, this time after seeing the card, and Chidwick checked behind. The river [3c] saw Katz check and Chidwick did the same to scoop the pot.

Greenwood Doubles Through Imsirovic
A board of [9hThTsKs] saw Ali Imsirovic bet 33,000 into a pot of 33,000 and Sam Greenwood called with [AsKh]
The river of [6c] saw Imsirovic move all-in for 488,000. Greenwood would need to risk it all to double-up..but it was a massive call to make. Could he do it? A time bank card was tossed into the middle.
He could! What a call from Greenwood, who doubles up through the Bosnian.
In the next hand, Imsirovic made a terrific river bluff to push David Peters off the best hand – just ace-high. The young man has absolutely no fear at the felt, and it’s wonderful to watch.

The flop of [5h9c3d] saw Chidwick bet 25,000 and Katz went into the tank before raising to 75,000. Chidwick called.
The [Jd] on the turn was a huge card, adding in the flush draw to Katz’s hand. Chidwick checked the and so too did Katz, taking it down to move further ahead.

Katz Remains in Control
Ali Imsirovic raised to 8,000 with [8h8c] and Peters called with [AsQh]. Cary Katz also made the call with [KsJs] and the flop came [9d3hKc].
Imsirovic checked, so too did Peters, but Katz bet and took it down.
In the next hand, Cary Katz flopped trips on the flop of [6c6s5d] as his hand of [9d6d] saw him make the best hand, Mikita Badziakouski’s [Ah5h] prompting a bet of 8,000. Katz raised to 30,000. Badziakouski made the call, and the turn of [2c] prompted a check from Katz and Badziakouski.
The river [Js] saw Badziakouski face a 93,000 bet from Cary Katz, and made a great fold to save some money.
So far, this final table of eight players has seen Cary Katz remain in control of proceedings.
