Greenwood (Luc) Takes from Chidwick, Proving It’s Possible
Luc Greenwood opened to 18,000 with [JsTs] and Stephen Chidwick defended his big blind with [Kh3s]. Both players flopped pairs on the rainbow [Th7s3d] flop. Chidwick check-called 16,000 on the flop and a further 60,000 on the [2d] turn, but did not call Greenwood’s final bet of 100,000 on the [9s] river.

Paul Phua Falls From the Field, Christoph Vogelsang Breaks a Million
Christoph Vogelsang opened from the button and Paul Phua pushed all in for 189,000. Vogelsang called, putting the Triton Poker co-founder at risk of elimination.
Paul Phua: [ad7s]
Christoph Vogelsang: [khkc]
The dealer spread out [qhjhth] on the flop, leaving Phua with just three outs to thus far to scoop the pot. An [as] landed on the turn and Phua was then only drawing to a split but the [2s] turn was of no help, sending Phua out of the tournament as Vogelsang added another pot to his stack.

Chidwick Triple Check-Calls with Flopped Set to Stack Davies
Stephen Chidwick opened to 18,000 preflop with [8c8d]. An in-position Seth Davies three-bet to 52,000 with [KcKs] and Chidwick made the call. Chidwick hit top set on a [8s5s3d] flop and check-called Davies’ bet of 45,000. On the [Qd] he check-called another 85,000 and on the [7h] river he checked a third time. Davies shipped in all but a couple of chips from his 181,000 stack and was forced all in with the bad news that his kings had been cracked.

Adrian Mateos Gives Christoph Vogelsang a Taste of His Own Medicine
The flop read [jh7c5d] and Christoph Vogelsang checked to Adrian Mateos who bet 35,000. Vogelsang called and a [4d] peeled off on the turn.
Action again checked to Mateos, he bet 120,000 and Vogelsang check-called once more. The [9s] completed the board, Vogelsang tapped the table and Mateos pushed all in, totaling 378,000.
Vogelsang did not take long to release his hand and the Spaniard scooped the pot.

Matthias Eibinger Down to One Chip, then None
The pot that did the damage to Matthias Eibinger saw him three-bet Artur Martirosyan preflop to 80,000 with [AhTs], Martirosyan calling out of position. On a [9c5s7d] flop, Martirosyan called Eibinger’s continuation bet of 36,000 having flopped top pair with [ks9s]. He check-called 120,000 on the [4d] turn, too, then checked once more on the [7d] river. Eibinger, utterly still behind reflective shades while pondering his decisions, now put all but a single 1,000-denomination chip across the line with his ace-high, a bet of 165,000. Martirosyan was not to be dislodged and Eibinger was left with 1/8 of a big blind.
Though he made a small comeback (to 12,000) this was soon forced all-in on the big blind (with [Kd7d]). Seth Davies called under the gun with [TcTs] and Stephen Chidwick made up the small blind with [Qs3h].
Chidwick flopped trips with [QhQd7c]. No bet here; Chidwick check-called Davies’ bet of 15,000 on the [3c] turn, however, and improved from a full house to quads with the [qc] river. Chidwick checked his four queens, and Davies, with queens full of tens, bet 40,000. Chidwick pondered though a timebank, then set Davies in – for around 400,000; Davies found the fold.

Jason Koon Senses a Bluff, But Still Not Enough
Ivan Leow and Jason Koon were in a battle of the blinds with the turned board reading [as7c3cac]. Koon check-called a bet of 50,000 from Leow and the [5c] landed on the river.
Koon checked to Leow who moved all in for more than enough to cover his opponent. Koon used a total of five time extensions before he made a decision and then called, tabling [9d7d] for just a pair of sevens.
Leow turned over [qd7s] for the same pair but a higher kicker. Koon’s read was almost spot on but Leow had the kicker to take down the pot, sending Koon out the door.

Eibinger Turns Trips (Into Double Up)
Matthias Eibinger has doubled through Seth Davies, after turning trips on a board of [6c5h9d9s] with [Td9h], Davies setting him all in for 163,000 total with a pair of fives after Eibinger led out this street for 42,000. The [4x] river was an irrelevance; the Austrian in the bright orange hoodie received a newly-playable stack back from the pot.
