Welcome to Event #6 – $25,000 Pot Limit Omaha
Welcome to the ARIA Resort & Casino and the PokerGO Studio for the 2019 U.S. Poker Open and Event #6 – $25,000 Pot Limit Omaha.
In 2018, the U.S. Poker Open was a new event added to the string of Poker Central high roller tournaments and the eight events on the schedule saw the likes of Justin Bonomo, Mike Gorodinsky, Stephen Chidwick, Ben Tollerene, Benjamin Pollak, David Peters, and Keith Tilston capture victories over the course of 11 days. Last year, Stephen Chidwick captured the first leg of his back-to-back victories in this event when he defeated Keith Tilston heads-up to win the $374,000 first-place prize.
Unlike in 2018 where the U.S. Poker Open Champion was crowned based on which player accumulated the most earnings throughout the series, the 2019 Champion will be decided using the High Roller of the Year points system. The player that accumulates the most High Roller of the Year points during the series will be crowned the U.S. Poker Open Champion and be awarded a $100,000 first-place prize.
With a victory in Event #4, Sean Winter has taken the U.S. Poker Open Championship lead from reigning champion Stephen Chidwick. Winter has made the final table in all four events so far, resulting in a total of $419,900 in earnings. Chidwick, who has now made three final tables so far, sits in second place with a sizeable gap ahead of him. To tie Winter, Chidwick needs at least another third place in one of the upcoming events.

Event #5 is currently down to the final six players with Poker Masters Purple Jacket winner Ali Imsirovic leading the likes of Kristen Bicknell, Nick Petrangelo, Dan Shak, Cary Katz, and Joseph Cappello. Fortunately for Winter and Chidwick, no one at the final table can overtake them in Event #5. The remaining players in Event #5 are all guaranteed a $88,500 payday, but it is the $442,500 first-place prize that they will be eyeing.

Today will see another new event on the U.S. Poker Open with Event #6 – $25,000 Pot Limit Omaha. Players will begin with 150,000 in starting chips and be playing 30-minute levels with play ending once the final table is down to six players. There are no tournament fees for players who register by 2 p.m. and each player is allowed two re-entries through the first nine levels (ending approximately 7 p.m. local time). There is also a 30-second shot clock in play for the duration of the tournament and each player will receive three 60-second time banks each day.
The cards are expected to be in the air for Event #6 of the 2019 U.S. Poker Open at 5 p.m. (EST) with the Poker Central Live Reporting team providing continuous live updates until just six players remain.
