Attention All Players: ARIA to Host $10k Satellite for U.S. Poker Open $100,000 Main Event
The 2019 U.S. Poker Open is rapidly approaching its epic finale with the $50,000 No Limit Holdem event kicking off today followed by the $100,000 No Limit Hold’em Main Event on Friday. Tonight at 8:00 pm local Las Vegas, ARIA is putting on a $10,000+$200 satellite for this event inside the PokerGO Studio, and here’s all you need to know.
Hosted inside the PokerGO Studio, this satellite will award one seat for every 10 entries and prize money that doesn’t result in a seat will be paid as one sum to the highest finisher that didn’t get a $100,000 seat. Seats won are non-transferrable, non-refundable and have no cash value.
Players that win their way into the U.S. Poker Open Event #10 $100,000 Main Event will be automatically registered and their chips will be in play from the start of the event at 2:00 pm PT on Friday.
This event will be played with a big-blind ante and players start with 125,000 chips. Unlimited re-entries are available through the first eight 20-minute levels after which there will be a 10-minute break. This event has a 20-second shot clock along with two 60-second time extensions.

Welcome to Event #9 – $50,000 No Limit Hold’em
Welcome to the ARIA Resort & Casino and the PokerGO Studio for the 2019 U.S. Poker Open and Event #9 – $50,000 No Limit Hold’em.
In 2018, the U.S. Poker Open was a new event added to the string of Poker Central high roller tournaments and the eight events on the schedule saw the likes of Justin Bonomo, Mike Gorodinsky, Stephen Chidwick, Ben Tollerene, Benjamin Pollak, David Peters, and Keith Tilston capture victories over the course of 11 days. Tilston won the final event of the series – the $50,000 Main Event – when he overcame the 33 entrant field and defeated Jake Schindler heads-up to capture the $660,000 first-place prize. Also reaching the final table was Daniel Negreanu, Tom Marchese, and Dan Smith.
For the 2019 U.S. Poker Open, the $50,000 Main Event has been replaced with a $100,000 buy-in version, but with popularity of high roller events being at an all time high, the $50,000 buy-in is now the penultimate event of the series. The previous event that played down to the final four was Event #8 – $25,000 Mixed Game. Brandon Adams holds a commanding chip lead over Nick Schulman, Randy Ohel, and Chris Vitch. Those four players will be returning today to play through the bubble before the eventual Event #8 winner collects the $270,000 first-place prize.

The U.S. Poker Open points race is winding down to the final few events, and it is defending champion Stephen Chidwick still out in front. Chidwick has collected victories in Event #1 and Event #6 and currently holds the overall points lead ahead of Sean Winter and Cary Katz. Winter has secured one win and four final table appearances, while Katz has two back-to-back runner-up finishes. The player that accumulates the most High Roller of the Year points during the series will be crowned the U.S. Poker Open Champion and be awarded a $100,000 first-place prize.

To me, this is kind of like the $50,000 Poker Players Championship but stretched out over a week-long series. Today will see the penultimate event of the U.S. Poker Open with Event #9 – $50,000 No Limit Hold’em. Players will begin with 150,000 in starting chips and be playing 30-minute levels with play ending once the final table is down to six players. There are no tournament fees for players who register by 2 p.m. and each player is allowed two re-entries through the first nine levels (ending approximately 7 p.m. local time). There is also a 30-second shot clock in play for the duration of the tournament and each player will receive three 60-second time banks each day.
